California - Northern

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this but I am in Northern California and wondering if anyone will have Swedish Flower or Chantecler chicks available come spring. If this is the wrong spot let me know. Am looking over on the buy sell trade forum as well. Thanks
Molly may ( MissMolly) or look at Sacramento Craigslist. John Brekken usually has them on there. He is a nice guy.

A few people here have the Swedish but not so sure of Chantecler ones- doesn't seem to be a popular breed in this area. They are really attractive dual purpose birds too! If you cannot find a local here is My Pet Chicken... http://www.mypetchicken.com/chicken-breeds/Chantecler-B27.aspx

Jeff in here has Swedish Flower - he is in the Redding area. I know someone else does too- but I cannot recall. It's killing me now that I cannot recall.

the hawks will sit in the trees and dive bomb the white chickens :(
We do have them around here too. They eyeball the ducks but the geese keep them away. Yay for my geese! They may not produce many eggs but they don't eat much feed at all, they watch over my ducks...they pay their own way a different way. The chickens though- they need a sentinel. Maybe the roosters will help when I add them. I hope the Leghorns make it. They are very very flighty. I let them out this evening for 30 minutes and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Good luck catching one outside they are very watchful and run and hop and fly. LOL Hopefully that helps!

in the summer mine like to dust bath in the red dirt. Helps give them camo as well :)

I may put a goose house out in the chicken yard next year. I like geese.

2013 calendar picture here? You take lovely pictures. The ducks and geese look thrilled with the extra water.

Love this shot with the little bantam wyandotte with all the BIG Orps!

we just had a crazy down pour for about 10 minutes. now it is just raining hard.
I think I was out doing Chickens this morning when it hit!!! I was outside for over a hour. Wet and muddy....My husband FINALLY got off the couch to see what I was doing.....I said, "feeding and taking care of ALL the chicken before I go to work." Like I always do! He Said, "OK..." and went back in the warm house....REALLY!
Thanks alot Butt Head... LOL

bummer. Yeah around here I am the chicken care giver. My wife does feed them and let them out in the morning for me Monday thru Friday. It is too dark when I leave and I do not want anything getting into the coops.

PapaBrooder(Jeff) has Swedish Flower hens. I hatched some for him to test his incubators for problems. Send him a pm.
