And earlier...you can see how Foghorn (my bantam rooster) feels about Gary's love interest in Betty. Not thrilled at all. Betty apparently does NOT care because she went with Gary anyway. It's like a chicken soap opera!

Love the whole story lol! No wonder they are all enamored with the beautiful Betty!!!

I'm sorry. Heavy picture alert. I discovered today that my black orp/marans mix girl- Black Betty and my handsome Marans cockerel are extremely sweet on each other. They are always hanging out together, he makes purr noises when she is with the rest of the harem (it's not his harem) and she runs for him, he shows her tidbits by tapping the ground with his beak and she eats. If she wonders off he panics and looks for her and goes to her. If she is with the harem, he pines for her and stares at her form a distance. I am SO not kidding. My kids are so enamored with the whole Disney movie playing out. LOL Is that normal? He isn't even mating her, just wooing and being sweet.

Well Betty hangs out with him Gary (my Marans) and my BO fella named Chief is the 3rd wheel. When Gary wasn't looking hornball Chief hopped on her. Super ticked off Gary. And here are the pictures. I sat with a zoom lens watching all the chickens for about 30 minutes and it's amazing I caught this drama!









Betty totally took off and ran back to the harem.

And now look at Gary...staring after. I am so not making this up!
Here he is looking sad towards her...



And you can see she went back to the group.

these are all so great. That last one if you could close in some would be perfect for the calendar . as is too. I would just love to see that little guys facial expression lol.

I figured that the calendar was a special case. There is a winner for each month too.

Glad to hear everyone survived the storm, although sorry to hear about so much damage. We had a power outage for over 36 hrs staring around 5am Sunday over quite a large area. The PG&E crews were out trying to find where the problem was. That took the majority of the time. All this technology and you'd think there would be a faster way to find the problem in the line! Anyway, very happy to have running water (especially lovely hot water) and cold refrigerator again.

Love all your pics, but this one looks like an animation cel. You know, one where the character is trying to get a away fast and starts spinning his wheels running in place. Very funny chicken soup soap opera! Gorgeous Gary is the playboy, Chief is the rake (snake?), Foghorn is the straight arrow, and beautiful Black Betty is the femme fatale! I'll be watching for the next installment of All My Chickens.
