I'm with you, lovin' all the blue babies.

I probably should have picked a blue breed to work with. But now I have blue barnevelders, so things are lookin' up!

BTW Trisha - I have 2 blue boys (one stands out already as a looker) and 1 blue pullet. I think the rest are blacks, but there is an iffy one that might be a dark blue.

Gotcha beat - try crowing at 1 DAY old. His daddy crowed at 4 DAYS old.
Pretty eggs!
Love hearing that tiny crow!!! Someday I'm going to live where I can have a roo! DH doesn't like the sound but I sure do!

It's a sad day here. A neighbor's scroungy, white, terrier like dog got into our backyard this afternoon. It had our blue Isbar cornered in the garden. I yelled at it and our dog chased it to the fence where it squeezed through a 4 in. high hole. We blocked the hole and began checking on everyone. Astrid was scared but seemed to be okay but Monet's favorite white Polish, Marshmallow, was missing. We found a few white feathers on the ground but our Coronation Sussex was missing her tail feathers so those could have been from her. Maybe the dog came over, snatched our Polish, carried it home through 2 yards, and then came back for seconds. Why is it always the favorites that bad things happen to? RIP Marshmallow!

I will hold out hope for Marshmello. I don't understand people who don't keep their dogs enclosed. I want to know they are safe in my yard, not out where who knows what might happen to them.

Pulling for you to find marshmellow scared on the coop in the morning.

And that your nice talk wiht the neighbor about his expletive deletive dog gets into his brain and changes the behavior.

I talked to my next door neighbor and the dog belongs to the people who live on the other side of his property. He told me that he noticed a hole in the fence between their 2 yards so the dog went through that hole, crossed my neighbor's large yard and went under the fence into our yard. I blocked up the hole under my fence with several logs and I'm going to have my DH fill it in next weekend. I sure hope that my neighbor takes care of the hole in his fence or that dog is going to be hanging out in their yard. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to catch the dog owner when he gets home from work.

I've checked every hiding place at least 3 times but there is no sign of her. I'm still hoping that she will show up. She is kind of a ditsy girl and hangs out close to the run most of the time. Poor little thing!
