I'm going to share my "recipe" for making felt chickens.

Felt Chickens

Materials:
Felt (different colors)
Sharp scissors
Needle
Thread
Pen or Pencil
Ground cloves and cinnamon
Stuffing/dryer lint

1. Draw a chicken body on felt.

2. Cut out body.

3. Thread your needle with desired color of thread.

4. Start sewing at bottom of chicken.

5. Stop sewing around head.

6. Take a piece of red felt and cut out a comb.

Finished comb.

7. Sew on comb.

8. Take some yellow felt and cut out a triangle for a beak.

9. Sew on beak.

10. Cut out a red wattle.

11. Sew on wattle.

12. Continue sewing until you get to an inch to inch and a 1/2 opening.

13. Mix ground cloves and cinnamon to make a fresh/festive smell.

14. Stuff the chicken with stuffing or dryer lint.

15. Put in clove and cinnamon mix and sew up the chicken.

16. Cut thread.

17. Tie a double knot.

18. Finished product! Can be used as cat toys too...

...or ornaments....

...You can even make a duck!

So this is what I have been doing while I have a cold.

This is wonderful! I could stuff it with cat nip and drive my cats bonkers!

The first time my rooster growled at me it scared the crap out of me.  It was after dark and I was closing up.  Gosh it was a scary sound.
I had a rooster do exactly what you are describing and it did turn into attacks towards me.  He was fine with my husband, my kids and strangers, but it was a daily battle with him.  I'm not saying your rooster will do this too, but just be cautious.

I would definitely suggest you keep an eye on him, especially around your kids.  If he has sharp spurs, you can dull them down.  Trust me, puncture wounds hurt really bad - even when you get them through jeans.   Also, I have been hit as high as my hips by this rooster, and I'm 5'8".  That is face level for a child.  It happens lightening fast.

Needless to say, he's not around anymore.

In my defense, I have Staff stuff that contributes to my post count.

Thank you! I will definitely keep my eye on him. I have already offed a few aggressive cockerels. I have zero tolerance.

One of ours started doing that and he took my rejection as well as my husband does! :LOL: In all seriousness, this can be the beginning of aggression. I got the spur in the thigh through my jeans just like Happy Chooks mentioned and it happens quicker then you think! While he was only aggressive to me and my husband it was getting old having to battle him. He's an amazing flock protector and makes some nice babies so I really didn't want to see him go so I started grabbing him and carrying him around whenever he came towards me in an aggressive manner and he quit fighting us. I think picking him up while he's still just flirting with you is a good idea.

If I knew how to dig it up, I would see if I could get my son to do it for you.. What's the trick?

A shovel a pick , hand saw and a breaker bar. Did around a section with at least 3 good canes. in a circle. did down with the shovel and the saw for cutting the roots. with the bar you can pry it up and dig the rest out as you go.
Put in a pot with extra dirt.
I can get down in a few weeks though.
I am off the week of xmas. plus any weekend after that should be ok

The lights are working! 9 eggs today from 13 hens!

Even with this cold, dark, rainy weather my Wellie, EE, and Marans girl are still laying almost every day, pretty amazing with hardly any light.
