Actually under a hen.  I've got a PR that everytime I go in the coop she is in a box or looking for an egg.  She missed out this summer and is acting ready again.  No power outage worries that way.

Nothing better then a good Broody hen :) my favorite broody hen hatched three batches last year. I would trust her with my most valuable eggs. She's that good.. :) good luck!

I'm working on a broody room so I can move my girls out of their main flock to set and raise the chicks. Swing Shift, (flock name), has some aggression issues with the BSL's. I wouldn't want the broody to have to fight them off to protect her babies. I've had good luck moving them while setting even.

A shovel a pick , hand saw and a breaker bar. Did around a section with at least 3 good canes. in a circle. did down with the shovel and the saw for cutting the roots. with the bar you can pry it up and dig the rest out as you go.
Put in a pot with extra dirt.
I can get down in a few weeks though.
I am off the week of xmas. plus any weekend after that should be ok
That sounds like way too much work.

If I need a breaker bar to get a plant up, it's meant to stay where it is. Note to self: Don't plant bamboo.

I love broody hens, but it's not so fun when you have 3 of them at once. Musical nest boxes, fighting over chicks.

Good Morning everyone! :) It is COLD this morning! I forgot to turn the heat on last night and woke up freezing my socks off! Got the fire going around 430. I got "THE" call from usps around 545! Bielefelders made a safe landing! I don't think I've ever driven that fast to the post office before Lol :D Wow they are beautiful! Im really impressed already. They are very pretty little chicks. Very talkative. They look a little younger that i expected them to be. Maybe about 4 weeks old now. Hey Molly. Do you have any ideas on how to use those wire brooder/coop things indoors in the garage. I was thinking of making like a big bed of hay to set the brooder on to catch the poop. And then make like a arena around the brooder and hay so they have a little yard to come out of the brooder to. Think that would be ok?
