Molly, you are a closet sikie owner for sure!

The NYD Hatch along thread shanghaied me into massacring writing a digest for their thread! I am exhausted

Hey, no kvetching, we all saw you volunteer/ask for the job!

I can't imagine trying to summarize hundreds of daily posts that say "I can't wait", LOL

Deb
It's often easier when there are a lot of the same posts. At the end there will be hundreds or thousands of pictures of peoples hatches too. The only way to keep up with that thread is to keep the digest as a text file Dropbox.

Cute chicks! It's a pair? The male is lighter with the larger comb? I'd never heard of Bielefelders and had to look them up.  Congratulations!!

Their isn't much info on them on the internet. I've found a few German community forums Im trying to learn from. Im starting a thread for the breed. I guess in America it will be one of The first. Its gonna be a lot of fun.

Congratulations Mike.

Any luck with yet with your old username?

Thank you! Nope i kinda gave up. Until i get my laptop fixed and some wifi out here Im its on hold.
Im using my android for all my internet right now and i don't ever have 3G. So ive hade very limited time online to read posts/pms and whatever else i have to do online. Im convinced it something with the phone or service provider and not the website. Hopefully i can find a laptop i like and get some internet out here ASAP and i won't have to worry about it.
I do appreciate your help and concern. I just wish i had better service lol

Anyone feel that 3.4 last night? It was centered about 10 miles from us.

I didn't even know. That's news to me. Did you feel it?

After what you paid, those guys would be free ranging in the house with me.

Good luck with them!

Deb

Lol oh for now, yes they are nice and warm in my den in the house. But i do want to set up a nice indoor coop area just for a few birds In the garage in the near future.

My latest hatch (Tuesday night), three of these.

:love

One more egg to lock down on Tuesday, then nothing but a bunch of slow cooking eggs until the 24th :fl ..................of course, then there's the NYD hatch!

Deb

Good luck with the hatch. Ive got a lot to learn about hatching here soon. What kind of incubator do you use?

Mike, I would keep those little cuties warm. I think it's to cold for them to go in the coops you got from me. Not sure how cold your garage gets? They look just like the cream Legbars? Molly

My garage is insulated so i was thinking in a few weeks they could go in there.
I think they look a lot like cream legbars myself. Their colors are similar when they are adults. So lets just hope they are what we hope they are. :D

Yes, that thread consumed my time last year. Now I have so many threads I follow, I have a tendency to just scroll through and only read what catches my attention.

I bought a Genesis 1588. I loved it so much, I bought a second one. I loved it so much, I bought a third one, LOL They have been running nearly non stop for a year now. The only time I shut them down was the two weeks I flew to Cabo. Then I wished I would have set eggs right before I left so I'd have chicks when I first got home. I decided incubator tending was just one too many tasks for my house-sitter after taking care of the 300 birds/chicks/quail/turkeys/dogs/alpaca/sheep/finches/frogs/geckos/etc, LOL Although my house-sitter is my son and one year he had to whelp a litter of puppies for me....................

Said 36 here when i got up... brrrrrr... it HAS been cold and wet!!! The Silkies are happy to be out in some sunshine this morning though. I am introducing some new girls into the flock. All seems peaceful with Miss Minky running around letting everyone know she is in charge lol!

Do you let your girls into the sun? Do the partridges not have trouble with fading? That seemed so strange when I was reading about the feather fading, it freaked me out a wee bit. Ive been looking for silkie people to ask!
