That's an awesome idea!! I wonder what they would think once the cam starts and shows two little chicks peeping around?? It might be a big hit!

My chicken doors aren't too much bigger than a 5x7. It might just take your duck another night to get idea of the smaller hole.
I hope your goat doesn't try and squeeze through that hole! Or that might be a REALLY good picture!
I think they would ! I also ment wed get pre teen pullets clicking on it too, but I bet both are a good possibility. The boy chick is so cute he would make both types of chicks coo and watch.
I have to say I am so terribly sad. what happened today back east is the most horrible thing that I can remember.
I have 2 little kids and will spend the rest of the night hugging them.
I am too. Hug them for me a little extra .

Has anyone use pool fencing to keep chickens in sort of like a run? I was thinking you could move it around so they could free range. I would not keep them there at night, but was thinking it might be good for younglings or my legbars just to keep the boys fro breeding the other girls.

Someone is supposed to pick up all my extra quail tonight, i'm getting nervous they aren't here, don't get lost and not come, I don't want to put them all back!

The door to my coop is a foot wide and I have seen two of them go out of it at once in the morning

We have two doors. The smallest is in a sheet of steel, that goes into a small wire and wood enclosure. Then another door into the coop. Even the big goats with horns can get in there. I am so sick of it LOL The 5x7 was a last resort and I'm glad to hear that its an ok size!

I have read post where different sizes of doors are used to make safe places for little chickens when mixing big with little. The little ones run through the door only they fit into and the the big ones can't get to them.

The smaller door should work nicely.
