If you get left coast eggs, you should be safe, I would NOT order cross country atm, you might have lousy luck. what are your fantasy birds?Wondering if eggs shipped from PA this time of year would make it.
I love the partridge color/pattern and was thinking about chanties, but some of the last comments on the thread make me think they would not do so well here. During the fair we were over 100 everyday.
Horstman has PR eggs and I know the rocks are OK here but I was trying to get away from single combs.
I hate the idea of ordering the eggs just to have them chilled during shipping. The only time I've ordered in the past they only came up from Vacaville in April.
nothing here yet but it is 34 degrees and cold. getting darker.LOL, NOW it's snowing...just switched over from rain. Not sticking yet though.

Well, if you get eggs, you'll get roos. I swear if you are not Ron you hatch 70% roos! He steals all the girl eggs and doesn't let us know. I saw a article on genetic testing of eggs to tell if they were boys or girls, and got excited. I thought we could get everyone to go in on one and get a partial grant! Then I looked it up, and it was a hospital equipment company that had no prices but offered to fly out a guy to show you how it worked. I'm thinking its a weee bit out of our price range.Like I said earlier I'm a partridge freak. Any hen with the mahogany/black combo, and yes that includes the barnies. I'm trying to stay with just layers to keep the crowing down, so how did I end up with five rooster going off at 5:00 a.m.?
I think the partridge coloring would be much safer with the predators around me, and NO more white birds.
