Mike, I'm so glad you are OK. Very Scary... You must have had a angel looking over your shoulder ... Hope your back feels better soon.

Everybody have a wonderful Christmas...God Bless!

Thank you!

I worked for Safeway as a Meat Clerk for 11 years and during that time really disliked the Holidays because of all the work and stress there.

Now I work at UCD and they pretty much close the Campus right now!

Love it!

Have a Very Merry Christmas as well!

I work for Harley Davidson, sales...really busy this time of year. My husband is a butcher for Bel Air. My daughter works for Safeway and my son works for UPS. We all have full schedules until after Christmas... We are blessed to have jobs.

My isbars gave me my first egg yesterday and then backed it up with another one today.
Merry Christmas to me... They are already in a breeding coop, so I'm ready to incubate those little cuties. :)

Congratulations Molly, I can't wait for mine to start.

I forgot that I wanted to tell people that we are picking our olive crop tomorrow, and maybe Thursday, if we don't finish. If anyone would like to come see what it's like to hand pick olives, you are welcome to join us! Everyone that helps gets a large bottle of our Italian varietal, extra virgin olive oil, fresh pressed, after we pick it up from the mill.

The ranch is at the end of County Road 56 in Guinda. We're picking from early morning until dark. Dress warm, wear boots, bring gloves and a bucket.

My step-DD & her DH run an olive orchard in Capay. I get fresh oil every year at Christmas. In fact, that's where were going for Christmas this year!

Lucky... I love olive oil, maybe I will tag along and be your long lost sister ;)

Its my splash girls that are laying with my blue Rooster. I forget what the chick color percentage will be... Any ideas?
I think ideally I want a splash Rooster...

I think its. Splash x blue = %50 splash %25 blue %25 black.

I have it written down somewhere. But that's off the top of my head so I could be off. ;)

Christmas has me crazy busy over here. Missed keeping up with this thread!

I picked up 2 chicks from Jeff. A cute little BL Wyandotte and a sizzle (my husband named Grimm haha). So we have a cute little mini pet flock now. :D I have the 3 chicks from Ron and the 2 from Jeff all 'brooding' together on my back porch. LOL The Show Girl (from Ron via Chiquita right?) got very sassy with the Sizzle (from Jeff) and big time chicken bombings, chest buts and neck hugs (so funny looking). The Show Girl would get so worked up he started pecking ALL the chickens. Then it would get the other chickens worked up and even the laid back Silkie and Sizzle (from Ron) got worked up and started pulling feathers. lol At night I put him in a crate next to them in a time out. He seems to be behaving a little better now. ;) Always fascinated watching them. I'm a nerd!

I treated a pullet for cocci for over a week or so. She seems to be doing better. She got to rejoin the rest night before last. I did the nighttime drop off- as Ron suggests and everything seems to be ok reintegrating.

The little TJs leghorn pullets I have sort of keep to themselves but are a part of the flock...just hold themselves a part from them. Must be normal for their breed? They seem to be doing well and actually seem rather smart. They are bright white = hawk bait -> but they seem to prefer hanging out under trees, under bushes etc. Seems smart!

I am not ready for Christmas. I have so many gifts to wrap and some still to buy. We have to travel to Oroville for Xmas Eve and we have to leave behind ALL of these animals and even the puppy for about 10 hours. I am going to come back to poop city - and be up all night cleaning up after everyone ahhh...the holidays seem to only be stress free for the kids. LOL

Ron...any news on the 6 Marans eggs? Any tossed out yet?
Oroville is just down the hill from us. Wish it wasn't such a crazy time of year, I'd love to meet you.

Oh, I would love to be able to be able to be there for harvest. I'm such a fan of olive oil. We sell the Berkeley Olive Grove oil from Oroville. They're getting a lot of attention for their oil. Have fun!
Quote: Wow, your family has it all covered. I own a retail store, my son works for Safeway and my son-in-law is a Chico city firefighter. Hard to get us all together for a holiday, someone's always having to work.

Love seeing all the new eggs, the chickens, not the accident.....hope everyone is ready for Christmas....I'm not!

gosh I love this time of year!

I still have two cockerels that need to be rehomed, two beautiful EE's, one has a peacomb, the Blue Marans I got from Papabrooder are really growing up nicely and the two Gold Laced Polish are turning out really nice, I can't tell how the 5 Polish cockerels crest are going to be because my black Polish hen is pecking them all. The act like they're in a trance while they allow her to peck away! Any ideas on stopping her? I let one of my favorite Polish roos go this summer because he let her peck his comb......no purple goo helps for very long.

OK, night all....back to work in the morning....is it Christmas yet? My next day off...

I thought that blue over splash would give you 50% blue and 50% splash.
