I would incubate those eggs.....
YOU would incubate any egg Ron.
I put mine into "time out" when he did this. You can get a cage or pet carrier and put him into it inside the run for the day. The one I did that with never attacked me again.

There is also an age factor. He should be past that teen age phase soon though so I would not give him too much time if the time out does not work.

Also, make sure you are not wearing red or red shoes.
If he does it on a continual basis, then yes, get rid of him.

I was attacked once by my welsummer rooster - turns out he doesn't like cell phones. Weird I know, but it's true. I figured it out the 2nd time I went in with my phone and he started coming at me - I hung up and he immediately backed down. I don't go into the run with my cell phone anymore and he has never again attacked me - and he's 3 1/2 years old now.
And I have to say he turned around and redeemed himself. I had tater tots left from lunch (healthy I know) so I went outside to observe and toss them their little treat. I was tossing pieces to him and the hens would come over and he would tap his beak near the food and step back and let the ladies eat. I will keep my eye on him but I like that side of him for my ladies.

ALSO Broody alert! My Black Orp Betty?? Has been in her fave lay box ALL day. She will not leave. Even if you pet her, reach under her...nothing. She growls and yells but won't leave. I found 6 eggs in the lay box next to her (silly girl) and grabbed the 2 EE eggs for Jeff to hatch and shoved 4 of the Buff eggs under. There were a load of ping pong balls in that nest that she was sitting on with her egg as well...not sure if there were anymore that I couldn't feel.

*fingers crossed* for Broody Betty!

Got 2 dozen eggs for Jeff to toss in his bator. Looks like 10 EE eggs, maybe 4 or 5 banty eggs and the rest all Buff Orp eggs. Let's see what I get! Last hatch I gave him 12 eggs and 1 hatched. I saw a lot more mating going on with these eggs so hopefully more than 2 eggs. :p
Check on that girl tonight and see if she is still on the nest instead of roosting! Yay! A broody! (hope I get one too)

I guess I can quit worrying about the first one to pip now.

It blurry as all get out. The first babies I've ever hatched without a broody.

Welcome ladies - hope hope hope!

I need help you guys...one of my oldest hens Barbara, the barred rock, had been looking a bit chubby but I chalked it up to the cold and her fluffing her feathers...but I just returned from a business trip and she's WADDLING when she walks instead of walking tall and after a quick spot check she seems to have a distended intestinal/vent area, very bloated and swollen. I know she's hurting because she's not roosting tonight, just sitting on coop floor.

Is this possibly egg bound? I've not ever had to deal with something like this... HELP please

My Welsummer "George" came after me once. I was working on the water and saw him jump at me through the corner of my eye and reached and grabbed him by the neck. We had a talk, he never did it again.

Been cold here in Siskiyou county.

Sounds like she is egg bound. Feel her abdomen very gently and see if you can feel an egg. Do not break it. If she is bound sometimes a finger full of KY
up the vent helps. Also setting her in a warm towel might help it move and pass it thru.

Earlier in the thread when Amelia was sick somebody knowledgeable suggested she might be eggbound - they said to put her half-way in a sink of warm water - covering her abdomen and vent, and gently massage it to see if it will pass..

it helps.

Yes, do this!

and make sure you use ky jelly. Olive oil can cause infection. If the egg breaks, it causes peritonitis.

Edited to add: A vet can give her a calcium injection too. This is serious, the usually die within 48 hours. There is an operation, but the results are not usually good and painful for the hen.

The water should be about 103 to 105°. I'm sure you already know that the egg will be on the right side.

I took one of my hens in to the vet thinking she was egg bound but her abdomen didn't feel right. She had a tumor about the size of an emu egg. With the tumor is was rock hard, there was no give in her abdomen. If she were egg bound I was told there would be some movement of the internal organs.

Question? My Marans roo is getting VERY feisty with me. He attacked me yesterday AND today. Are you kidding me? I am 5 7. I'm not a little thing at all. He is about 31 weeks old I want to say?

I have zero tolerance for this junk. Cull, give him time - suggestions? My other 2 roos do not do this. Not even my big fatty Buff Orp who is a mating maniac with the ladies.
My husband had me carry a stick for about a week and it put a stop to it. My marans are sweet but our problem was the new Hampshire roo
