I picked up the hatching eggs from the feed store in Elvirta. They were a dollar each!

Yes Molly they are BLRW. Looks like two blue and a splash. The blues will probably end up with shafting but they are pretty to me.

So we've been having predator issues again (another fox, I think). I set up the trap this morning.
This is what I get for baiting it with salmon.


NOTE: not a fox...

The poor thing looks guilty! My chickens love cat food and my husband set the trap and I found one of my hens caught in it! She was squawking at me to let her OUT!

Except for my 2 pullets who are in isolation, it has been a good chicken week around here! After no eggs for over 2 months, 5 of my girls started laying this week! This is a pic of all the eggs we collected this week except for 1 that DH ate for breakfast and 1 that a scrub jay ate in the coop. We are egg rich again!!!
