24 birds in 4 hours?
th.gif
Way to go!!

Ahh, fun with crested breeds!

Good luck at the show!!
Yesterday was bath day for most of the chickens going to the show today. Despite having to get 24 birds done in 4 hours, I had to run to the house for the camera.

I was trying to make the work a bit more fun while washing his crest, I don't think he was too happy. Shall we name him PeeWee Herman?

And DH is a real trooper, I'd wash a serama and pass it over, here was half the set.

Oh my goodness - that Roo is hillarious! No, he doesn't look happy.
That is a cute armful for DH too - chicks in a blanket.

Thanks for the laugh! Best wishes for the show! Can't wait to go. I look forward to this all year.

That pic cheered me up. I've been so sad after hearing the news, yesterday. What a horrible tragedy. My condolences to the family and all their friends.

I notice that the ads for Anderago are still popping up on BYC. Does the website person know about what happened?

Quote: Great point Kim!

The Anderago Farms website needs to be pulled down too, unless the family is going to continue running it.

It sounds like the Chickens are going to Cheryl's house so the site should be pulled down if so.

If i post a pic can some one help me figure out what went wrong 4 eggs started all three had developed but only one pipped at day 23

Thanks folks. In PMing with Americangame I can only compare with what my quitters did and I don't have enough to history to draw on, My quitters were much drier.
I found a hatch trouble shooting chart that came from Brinsea. If the chicks were wet and they pipped, it is probably humidity related.

It says probably too high, but too low will cause the same problem with chicks not absorbing the yolk and sticking.

I hope this helps and good for you for asking!

Oh my gosh that is awesome! Good luck at the show!

It is a sweet LITTLE town, Newcastle has a really great cheese shop and produce market back behind the old packing sheds. You could always stop by my place and talk chickens. Who knows what you might find here...IMG]https://www.backyardchickens.com/content/type/61/id/5500354/width/200/height/400[/IMG]
We often stop in Auburn to peruse through the antique stores.....and are really missing the ice cream parlor they closed down. :( We will definately stop in Newcastle. I'm wondering if the cheese shop is anything like the Amish owned cheese shops in Ohio? And, if you don't mind my son and me stopping in to see you we'd love to! Are you going to let us see your chickens too?

I have no doubt we would find plenty to talk about. You aren't a chicken enabler, are you? LOL Our next practice is on Monday, February 4.

I was feeling kinda bummed about not being able to make the Stockton show, but the thought of washing 24 birds put a different perspective on it.

Best of luck to everyone showing, great sales for all taking birds, and don't forget the drool rags!

Janet
