I try to avoid putting eggs in my pocket. I collect eggs in a wire basket. My biggest problem is getting out of the yard without stepping on the hens! If I am holding something they jump up at me to get it! One of the Partridge Rocks jumps up onto the garage door in the afternoon when I give them their treats! She thinks she is an acrobat or a dog!

It makes me smile though...

Our little OEGB will fly up to my sholder when I do chicken chores. When the barred rocks were young they would do the same thing. I've lost an opal and a sterling silver post to them picking at my earrings. I now wear only hoops in my ears.

Mine always go after my wedding ring. I love it when I open my front door and they realize its me. Oh my! About 100 chickens come running. I feel bad when I don't have anything for them, but Honestly... I can't give them something everytime I open the door. ..Or can I ...LOL

Bator baby help, please! I just can't decide whether or not to hatch the eggs I have incubating lying on their sides, like I do now, or use an egg carton during lockdown. What seems to be better??

I've only hatched once but it seemed to work fine putting them in the carton. I used a still air LG and the carton kept the eggs in the correct temp zone easily. I used an 18 pack carton, next time I'll use only as many as I have eggs, I only put 6 eggs into lockdown. The chicks looked really cute sleeping in the carton.

I have done it both ways. I Prefer large side up in the Carton. It seem to work well for me, plus a little less mess.
