Yes, much better. Thanks... Lost one of my favorite birds yesterday. When I went to let the girls out in the morning I noticed she looked cocci.

I took her in the house and gave her water with corid with an eye dropper. Two hours later I went to give her more water and she was lying flat out but still breathing. I started to pet her head and she began thrashing and I realized she was actively dying so I picked her up and held her and she died in my arms. It was very traumatic.

I feel really guilty because I have been so busy I did even realize she wasn't feeling well. She was likely ill for a couple of days and I did not notice - if I had I probably would have been able to save her. I feel terrible.

Ohh, Dear Deann, I am terribly sorry about the demise of your beloved girl. I am too familiar with the pain of loosing one of your charges, and the pain and questions which follows. Please keep in mind that you love, adore and take excellent care of your birds, and they live wonderful lives with you. Things happen which ever way they were meant to happen, and I don't think you could have done anything to change the course of her destiny. She was a lucky girl who had a very good life, and when the time came for her to depart, she was not alone; was in your arms being cradled. Please let your sorrow to leave you, and just remember the good memories of the times you had her.

Its always terrible when one slips away.

I had a silkie roo fight today. One bald boy with a swollen eye and one guy who is now beardless. Swollen egg guy is n the bathroom. He must be not too bad he tried to mate with the toilet.

Anyone have a favorite lemon recipe? We bought 75 lemons this weekend and I'm looking for some cool things to do besides juice and freeze.

Kim, are you putting roosts and nest boxes in the pens? Just curious! I am meeting this week with a friend who lives on 10 acres and we are hopefully going to start a breeding program. I'm going to show her pics of your pens.

One day and I'm waaayyy behind.

I will be putting roosts, just like the ones that Chris has pictured in his thread. If I need nesting boxes, I will use portable ones. These pens are being designed for roosters, so I won't need them, unless I decide to use a pen for breeding.

Sorry that happened. I have a Golden Comet that was trimmed and she was missing a lot more than that. Most of the beak grew back by the time she was a year old.
