Just let me know about four day in advance. I will save them for you. Molly

Anybody wanna guess what she is? Flossie... I got her from a guy in Lincoln who said she's an Ameraucana, of course. ...Trying to keep my mind off the chicks :)

I think this is going to be a long night :) I see them rocking around here & there :)
good luck

Just finished the new 4x3 brooder. I used everything I had laying around minus a few 2x4's I had too buy.
In it went the 2 Araucana and the 10 easter eggers I got yesterday. wanted to grab pic's but the dark came to quick

I asked this in the Emergencies/Illnesses section but wanted to ask you all here, too. Really worried about our baby!

We have 35 chicks. 27 are two weeks old, the others are a week or two older. The one that seems sick is two weeks old. He is a Salmon Faverolle (sorry if I spelled that wrong, I can never remember how it is correctly spelled). I noticed this morning that when I gave them scrambled eggs he was sleeping at the end under the light and completely ignoring the huge ruckus. I took him out with and tried to give him some on his own and he ignored them, just standing and peeping. I put a gentle buddy in there to try and have her show him the eggs and that didn't work so I put him back in.

I gave them a bit more tonight and same thing, he just sleeps under the light while everyone else is running around peeping. He's been healthy, they all have. This is the first real problem. He's asleep in my husband's hand right now (he's usually very nervous around us and has never settled down or relaxed before when being held). We were gone most of the afternoon, but he was up and walking around when I took them all outside. They are not vaccinated but have been on medicated feed.

Any tips? Would sugar water or separating him from the other chicks be in order? Just keeping an eye on him? I'd hate to lose the little guy, I really like him. We call him Balthazar.

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea but I'm sending happy healthy thoughts your way for Balthazar.

Is Balthazar smaller than the other 2 week old chicks? Sometimes they do not thrive.

The thing to try is baby vitamin drops without iron if you have some. It is easy to get some from a store that is open this late. Very carefully give the chick a drop. Make sure it drinks it and does not breathe it. After the very small drop of the vitamin try to get it to drink. Give more in the morning and the evening tomorrow

Give all of them something like save a chick in their water. TSC and other feed stored carry it.

I hope She\he gets better!
