Here are my boys (we have yet to name them):
Chocolate point Himalayan
Chocolate Persian
Beautiful cats! I especially love himalayans.
Keep things calm and quiet around them, & maybe keep them isolated in a bedroom for now. That's what I've done when bringing in new cats. Of course, my house is usually a busy, hustle-bustle place, which makes it all the more important to provide the new kids with a quiet, safe spot.
I don't feed my cats raw meat - they get dry kibble & the occasional can of gushy food for a treat. If it were me, I'd wean them off of the raw diet & onto a good quality dry food.
I'm sure they'll get more comfortable with their new home in a few days. Thanks for posting their pics - they really are beautiful!
Way too much time? Oh dear, I didn't think that was possible.
When I was younger my mother bought a car from a DJ who lived back east - he had every Dr. Demento show from the 80s taped and in that car, as well as 4 boxes of "demo" 45 records. We had to listen to all the tapes, and I still have some. We ALWAYS play the Christmas Dr Demento edition for Christmas - and sing "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" as well as "All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth". There are a few I insist we skip... I got really good on the words to most of them. I also still have the 45 for the singing dogs Jingle Bells and the Classical Cluck Henhouse 5's two singles. Great memories..
And yes, I can almost sing all of the words to "They're coming to take me away, ha haaaa".....
Yes, changed it all and sprayed the brooder, water dish, food dish, etc. with Oxine. Will have to do it again later because they are still passing bloody poos. Sigh...
I would love that! Do you guys want to plan something? I'll have my kids with me, although there's always a chance I could drop them off at work with Mark for an hour or so
The little one is in a stage where I do a lot of chasing around.
Stay strong sweet chickies! So sorry to hear they're sick. No fun to worry like that
I took a couple of pictures to show here--Deanne and Jason are more expert at the CCL(Crested Cream Legbar) X Crele Pene Chickens, to see if this is what a little roo looked like.
Ok it looks like a roo in the picture! I love the crest but there really is not much meat on those bones....
The color looks like a pullet, not a roo. How old is it? I would say pullet based on color. The CP's start laying fairly early, I would say that girl will be laying within the next 1-2 months. I will try to dig up a photo of a CL x CP roo. The cross roos I have hatched look like purebred Crele Pens.
Oh, and about the beautiful cats, when I bring a cat home I always let it hide and slink around - and just leave food and water and a litter box in a quiet place where they can get to it. Some hide for a few days, one hid for almost two weeks - but sooner or later they realize this is safe and home - and they relax. I never try to catch them and cuddle them - but when they relax they are usually in my lap anytime I sit down. Just be prepared to search and find where they ARE going if they didn't use the litter box... before it smells too much. I also do put them in a quiet room away from the bustle - where they can retreat to anytime they feel overwhelmed.
And yes, when they get hungry they will eat what is available. If you feed them a special diet they will expect that diet - so feed them what you plan on feeding them in the future so they can get used to everything at once and not have a series of changes.

hmm that has Hen coloring. both crele pene and creme legbar are double barred so roosters should not look like that. looks more manly than the one I had but I say hen color. is he trying to crow? I think for awhile she had partridge penedesenca in with the legbar but this looks like all the hens. The roosters I have seen look like a legbar or crele penedesenca
