Ya
That is a great thatch! 31 chicks is amazingly successful. Was that in a Genesis? Edited to add: 78% Total hatch and 93.9% Fertile hatch
it's was in my genesis 1588 I got in January and I thought it was 96 degrees according to 2 thermometers. But now I don't know! I could not believe it when I woke up to 12 hatched on day 19/20 and the rest pipped and hatched on day 20! Now I have a huge pile of fluff balls that I need to sell or make room for lol.

It was a busy weekend for me. I had to move slow because I pulled a muscle in my back on Friday. It is getting better but I do have to be careful.

I moved 3 Marraduna Basque and one SG Dorking X Ameracauna EE to the layer yard on Saturday night. Integration went very well with not too much fussing around going on. One of the Basque Hens even jumped in to get treats and no one knocked her away. They went into the big coop last night too so all is well with that move.

The OEs moved into the now cleaned grow out pen and they are doing ok too.

These are three of the 7 Cream Legbar X Crele Pene:

Barnie OE

The new babies, Starting with the Blue Egg Layers moved up one in the Brooders.

Splash Blue Egg Layer:

Ron, sorry to hear about your back. Glad to hear it is feeling a better.

Its hard to keep up with you guys! I've been leaving some eggs in the nest and one both of my partridge rocks have been hanging out in the nest for long periods of time. They will hang out for hours, seem very zoned out. One of them has even been plucking her breast a little bit. Are they thinking about going broody? They are still roosting at night and spending some time outside the coop every day. Does this kind of behavior typically turn into brooding at some point or are they just faking me out?

Total hatched divided by total set.
Some do it this way, but I count my clears too.  Mainly for checking fertility.  Correct on the Hatch-a-longs.
No worries, just post how many you hatch and we'll calculate for you.
Started it with 42 and 33 in lockdown. 31 hatched!

Way to go Chickengirl :woot

:ya :weee :clap :ya :celebrate

Congrats :thumbsup

Quote: Do you have a spot check ordered? I use a water wiggle toy to make a probe that sits next to the eggs. It is in the top left of the picture. You can see the probe inside the toy. The water is red from food coloring--helps to see the water level in the channels. See the second genesis on the right? It had staggered hatching eggs in it....

I hope to get something going with them. There is a lot of interest in them. I will put your name on my list of people that want chickens/eggs.
Thank you! And I hope that your back continues to recover!
