re: photography gear, i use everything from my iphone to an old speed graphic 4x5, with lots of toy cameras and polaroids and medium-formats in between. the chickens look good regardless of which camera i use.

I love all sorts of cameras. Medium format cameras are one of my faves! Need to bust out some B&W film.... it's been to long!

You can do this either way. Don't sweat it, they will get the amount they need.

Never mix calcium in with the feed though.

I had been sprinkling it in with their food. I also tried Ron's method last night and there was a huge frenzy after Ellie stepped into the lid I placed some grit in, inspected it and then everyone rushed in!

Update on our little flock:

The Hub's Grandma (our coop co-op member) is picking up Corid today for the wee babes. I HATE the idea of medicating the whole flock when I don't believe them all to be infected, but I also know it's only a matter of time before they would be and I can't bear to lose any of them. Scratchers, the golden laced Wyandotte who's had the runs since we brought her home from the feed store in Auburn (interesting too that she was in another level than her sister silver laced wyandotte and the Brahma we got there) looked a little fluffed up and sleepy eyed last night. She is still eating and drinking though as of this morning and still has bouts of energy and spunk.

Hope I'm doing the right thing for them all.

Well it looks like we are yet again downsizing and will be renting our home and moving.

I'll have my entire flock available for purchase in addition to the new chicks I have just gotten...red orpingtons & swedish flower hens from greenfire and Barnevelders - a mix of blue, buff & regular

PM me I'll try to list my current members of my backyard flock... I love them all and want them to go to good homes
