Hi Amy,

Did you get any nice Marans pullets from the ones form me?
I am not sure. I have like 3 more roos to bounce. But so far my answer is no. The females that I appear to have gotten all look like Eggers- they have dim lacing or speckled feathers all over. Not all easy to see but it should be plain black and it's not. It's ok though. I am enjoying watching these little Egger pullets feather out and choose which ones I want to keep. :D

When I was growing up we had an Italian Greyhound who would do the same thing. If you couldn't see her around the house she was likely under the covers in my mothers bed. For such a small dog she took up a LOT of space in the bed.

I used to show Italian Greyhounds, they like to be HOT and will stay under the covers all the time. You'd think they would suffocate, but they have NO body fat.

On another note, a friend of mine is looking for a new ram for her flock of sheep. She's been really good to my family so I said I'd help her look for one. She doesn't really care about breed but wants a ram from good fertile stock (her current one produces lots of twins) and about 250lbs I think. If anyone could help point me in a good direction it would be much appreciated.

We also raise sheep and got 13 lambs this year, 9 of which are ram lambs

. We raise dorpers which are also a hair sheep and a great meat animal. We have both pure dorpers and a mix (lots of black lambs and spotted lambs).

Does anyone have any Silkies for sale? Chicks or older. My daughter is lonely now that my mom and step dad have gone home. I'm trying to get Silkie eggs for our next hatch (darn broody silkies!) but I would love to have some (or even one) for her now. We're in Penngrove. Thanks everyone! They can be culls from a breeding program or anything, just looking for a pet, who will be very loved (and probably indoor/outdoor, realistically

I have both silkie chicks and extra adults. If you were interested in just a pet near adult cockerel, you could have one for free. I have a few that for various reasons are not showable (off color or not correct toes). I am of course in the Placerville area though (and trying to push those broodies off the nests, LOL)

Thanks so much, Deb! It looks like a little over two hour drive, so I don't know if we'll be able to do that very soon, but maybe we could come and pick up the eggs at the end of April and get one then, if you still have them! Although I wonder if a boy would be picked on, we'll have a few other roos. Haha maybe Clementine would get her wish and have a "room chicken" that sleeps on her bed. Wonder how hard it is to make chicken diapers...

In the BST section under "everything else" some one is selling chicken diapers.

LOL That's a whippet for you. They always know the under the covers trick.

I'm so glad the dogs are home Jason and kept well and dry during the storms.

Wish my whippet knew how to get herself under the covers. She sleeps on in her bed next to me and wakes me up several times at night to cover her back up. She is sooo needy but we love her.
