Deb did I get you enough eggs?

I am hoping for a bunch of empordanesa.
On another note I will have white empordanesa eggs I can send next week I am getting about 3 eggs per 2 days from 2 hens. I can throw in some olive egger eggs as well. The Empordanesa eggs have been a fairly good color I got a real dark one this evening

Okay so maybe someone can PM me and clue me in on who not to order eggs from

Higby's is a feed store in Dixon! The chicks just arrived this morning, I'm assuming just a few days old right now. They told me each chick was $5.50! They are straight run. I told them that they could sell the chicks as I already have 4 Sebrights at home...but I might pick up 2 of the Quail d'Anvers for myself in the next couple of days. It sounded like the people at Higby's weren't expecting to sell out of these chicks quickly, so they should still have some left after this weekend. If you want to call them and ask them to hold any number of the chicks, their phone number is 707-678-9007, and the website is http://www.higbyfeed.com/
How old are the d'Anvers...still in the brooder? Do they need to be picked up? I'm not familiar with Higby's. Also, how much does each chick cost.

My son really wants to start raising Quail d'anvers. He saw some at the State Fair last year and we couldn't find any to buy (or hatch) anywhere. We're driving down to Arizona this weekend but if you still have them next week, I might be in a better position to consider getting them. His birthday is coming up and a little flock of his own might be really a nice gift.

Please let me know if someone else gets them too so I won't be wondering. Thank you so much, Darla

Hi I was wondering if there was anyone from the Sacramento / Yuba/ Sutter area? I'm a new home steader in a new area looking to meet people for trading livestock and or goods and possibly friendship. Thanks a lot. :)

There are quite a few BYCrs in the Sacramento area!

Do chickens pant? Emma one of our almost 3 week old EE babies has been breathing with her beak open sometimes. Is she ok?

Yes, they pant when they are too hot. The Brooder should have a part of it that is 85 degrees at three weeks. There should also be a cool spot for them. It is probably too hot for her. My EE is not very heat tolerant and is one of the first ones to start panting and opening her wings in the summer.

Bad symptoms are sneezing, discharge from the eyes or nasal passage or bubbles in the eyes.
