ETA Kim and Ron I have read the same thing about feather sexing SGDs. Do you find that to be true?

Maybe it's the same for all chipmunk marked chicks?

When the markings are this dark or light, you can usually be sure of their sex. The dark eyeliner is an almost sure sign of a pullet. But, many times you will get chicks with markings that fall in between the dark and light. Those are the ones that seem to go either way. You can't sex them reliably until the chest feathers come in. Once you see black or salmon chest feathers - that is the sure sign of pullet or cockerel.

omg if you did you are in trouble!! If you have an issues with it, I can tell you what we did to fiddle. MAKE SURE YOUR EGG TRAYS DO NOT FALL OUT OF THE TURNER! We needed a part that gets left out a lot and learned by having 200 eggs slide out.....

This reminds me, I should post on cl about having incubator space...

Okay so then the clear area is at the bottom of the egg then because that is fat end up and it has been sitting in the turner that way. I did let them rest for about 4 days before starting the turner. They do seem to have gotten bigger because I looked at them again last night! I couldn't help myself.

Last night was day 10. They just don't look at all like my other non shipped eggs. I have about 7 of those shipped eggs that look like that so we will see what happens. Just don't need any Zombie Franken Chickens!

Those have broken air cells (the air cell in that egg has expanded down the side of the egg so it does not need to be repositioned) and will hatch, but since the air cell is bigger than normal the chicks sometimes get too dry and will get stuck and need to be helped out. I am hatching lavender Ameraucana chicks today for a friend and one of the eggs with a big air cell like that hatched with no trouble at all

Cpartist has some very nice Ameraucanas with fabulous egg color

If you want to add another wheaten/blue wheaten line (Paul Smith x Pips&Peeps) to your Ameraucana flock I am sure I will have extra rooster chicks

I am also going to be getting eggs from a hard to get line (Cree) that I have been waiting for 2 years to purchase! I should have plenty of W/BW Ameraucana chicks to share in the near future.
