California - Northern

I was going to re-arrange chicks today, move some out to the broody room and others into a larger tote. Since they are forecasting a 40° temp. swing tonight I guess everyone is staying where they are.

Looks like I'll be dragging the frost blanket out too, since all oir beds are planted. It was 84 yesterday and todays high is supposed to hit 61. At least we are below the snow elevation.

Quote: I have sexed chicks, juvie cockerels and adult roos in both.

After much thought we have decided to find our 12-14 week hatchery BO a home. She is not working with our flock, and keeps getting picked on. We absolutely love her, but we have to do what is best for her.

Our wyandotte is just too bossy.

Does anyone have a gentle flock that would welcome her?. She can be handled, and will sit in your lap....she is really a great bird.

Do you have the ones with the purple bloom? I got some from a lady if you want her info I can search for it lol
We of course all want them.....

Sadly we can't have every chicken breed there is.

Thank you! I would love to have her info! The 30 black Langshan eggs that I got from a breeder who has beautiful SOP birds failed to develop. They must have gotten too hot or scrambled in the mail.

I have 2 that are due to hatch this next weekend and I just put 12 more in the incubator on Sat. It is going to be a staggered hatch but none of the shipped Langshan eggs that were also due to hatch this weekend developed. They were shipped from AZ in the middle of that heat wave so I'm thinking that really messed them up.

I was so disappointed to not get any of them to develop that I went ahead and loaded up the incubator with Langshan and Bresse eggs from my birds.
Awwww I am sorry to hear your eggs didn't hatch :(. I was looking forward to that too!

That's what I'm debating right now. It's like a bunch of monkeys fighting in my head haha. But I think I have it narrowed down to 8 breeds. Her name is "feather hill rare and fancy fowl" I found her on Facebook of all places that's where my searching and searching led me haha. Her name is Judy she's very nice.

Thank you! I messaged her through FB a few weeks ago and I just saw that she is trying to get in contact with me but FB wouldn't let her. LOL!!! I'm so glad that you posted this!
