California - Northern

Well no scans on my showgirls since 12 am yesterday. Went to the po and they didn't have any other info on it either. I got the supervisors number to call tomorrow but she was gone by the time I called.

With all the storms yesterday and nothing for almost 20 hr's im worried.

I know it's not exactly the same as live birds, but I had eggs shipped to me (that I've been waiting on for six months) from two different people, both from back east.

They were both shipped out yesterday morning.

Quote: Okay, this was one of my missing multi quotes.

Thank yo for your soothing replies. Lizann I will pm you the number. I'm hoping its all fine its my first live birds so I'm jittery. Woke up all night when my phone pinged.

Mario is having to deal with me he needs tea and sympathy!
Deb, I'll think good thoughts about you eggs too. What are you getting?

In my very mixed flock of poultry, I have two Toulouse geese. It took me over a year to figure out they were both ganders. In the summer of 2011 as I was moving here, I ordered a sexed pair from Ideal Poultry. I named them Kate and William. One died after I removed the leg bands and I thought it was the male. It was too late to order a replacement, so I found a slightly older gosling on CraigsList; the people told me it was male. He became Angus.

Well, Kate never laid any eggs. "She" is very duck-centric and hangs out with my Cayuga ducks. Angus, on the other hand, hangs out mostly with the chickens. Both of them display Gander/Daddy behavior with baby ducks and chicks. They also started to fight this Spring. Nothing major, just "I am the Boss of You" stuff.

Given their single Dad status, I figured I should try to get some girl geese for 'em. All the hatcheries were out of Toulouse by the time I got around to it - in two cases, by one day. Auugh! But Ideal Poultry has a "notify me" feature which I used, and I got a call the next day saying they expected a late hatch but not enough to post on their website. Hatch date May 29. Yay! I have been counting the days...

Ideal called me a bit over an hour ago to ask if I minded changing from May 29 to "Today or maybe tomorrow, depending on when we can ship them."

Three guesses as to my reply.

P.S. I ordered three female goslings, so each gander has the chance for a partner and one extra "just in case."
congrats
Found a way to get some pictures of the Pita Pintas up!

) and "Mystery Eggs"...............I have to wait until they get here to find out.

Dottie is pulling out her lower neck/chest feathers. I will get a pic later but I noticed she had feathers missing and Tom said he saw her pluck. I read all the descriptions I could find on why she might be doing it and nothing sems to fit. She is a Delaware from My Pet Chicken and is just a year old. Any thoughts?

Lots of things going on here so I am not able to post replies to everyone but wanted to say "Howdy!"

Tom finished the coop on Sunday. The babies are outside with light. They are happy. I take my little folding chair into the coop and bring them treats and I am happy because they now run all over me instead of freaking out..

My Daughters graduate from St. Mary's on Sat. My son from high school the following Friday. Busy and emotional time for us here. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me re the feather pulling. She is otherwise behaving normally. I feed King, give yogurt or buttermilk most nights they have been wormed and free range for hours everyday unless we are not home. Everyone else is good. Buck Beak has broken feathers on her back but she was Ray's favorite so that is to be expected.
