California - Northern

I decided to get the smaller 20 max. If I like it I will buy another one.
I figured though I do not really ever need more than 2 chicks at I time. Do I ?
Cheryl had/has the Rcom max 50. I borrowed it last summer and loved it! It was spot on with heat and humidity. It doesn't have a separate humidity pump. You just pop the lid on an outside compartment and pour in the water! Sure wish that I had $684 sitting around! I would not hesitate to buy one!

I think the 50's went up. I was planning on it but most where in the mid 700 range I think. This one was $425 as it was. really excited. I can not wait to test it with some penedesenca eggs

Adorable babies Linda.

This Golden Cuckoo Marans rooster is around 9 weeks old and has started to crow! He is twice the size of my EE roosters that are a week younger (pictured in the background) He will be going in with the adult hens soon because of his size. He is still very immature. He will develop a cape of beautiful golden neck feathers. Might make some pretty OE babies bred to my Blue Wheaten Ameraucana hens.

Here are the newest additions to my waterfowl flock. First, the box in which the 3 goslings and 8 Barred Rock chicks (presumably all male) arrived.

Meet Zoe, Dora and Ariel.
.

Then a couple shots as soon as they got settled.

.

Because I now have a 10' by 15' pool for the waterfowl, I took the "turtle sandbox" kiddie pool and scrubbed it clean, then put it on my deck. It sat in the sun - about half full - until the water was as warm as bathwater.

.
...

Although all three girls did some submarine swimming, Ariel (the smallest) was the most excited about swimming underwater.

Today, I added more water and a concrete block for resting, but haven't taken those photos yet. It's overcast, and I am not sure the water will warm up enough for a swim today. Fooey.
Oooh! How adorable!! Your making me want some!!

I have had the African Geese and loved them.

Ok Deb. the vote is in. One young cl roo (pref over 4 weeks so i can put him with my 8 week old hens. )in the cat carrier on the way home to Tahoe .

Can you pm me directions and monitory information ? I home I didn't wait to long to let you know but the family reunion was a smash and I didn't have time!

Ohhh, we've been outside all day cleaning out the goose/duck shed, I just got this message. I have to leave in 20 minutes for an appt. and won't be back until 5-6. I do have the perfect candidate for you though. I'll get in touch and we'll make sure you get him soon.

I love when they do the submarine dive, it cracks me up.

I have a hot/cold tap outside for bathing dogs. When I fill the pool for the waterfowl babies, they get nice warmish water

he is a big boy

he looks very sweet!

i'm feeling bad for poor Max Jr, his mama keeps trying to ditch him (he's 5 weeks today), and he wanders around cheeping forlornly while looking for her...
He is a sweet little guy and spunky!

Sorry for little Max Jr. When we used to separate the lambs from the mamas it was heartbreaking
I think it's cute your rooster has a personal ad! :)
Do you think I should go ahead and put it on CL for him

Any suggestions of sweet docile don't care if they are confined kind of girls? I mean they would have the run and the coop which totals about 110 square feet but I need girls that won't be sad if they can't range in case Curly can't hack it. Also thinking smaller LF because I am pretty sure he isn't going to get very big.
