Thats a lot of cement for those post. You really Tim the tool man Taylored it! but seriously the splash bird is just beautiful!
thanks. that is a cross of 3 generations of ee/ ameraucana back to amerucana from what my friend said. pretty as well but may be one of those slow to show boys

Jason, I just wanted say.................did you put them in that pen like ten minutes before you took the picture? Mine hit everything like locusts and there is not a blade of grass anywhere. In fact they have single handed (winged) wiped out large patches of blackberries.

Is this the only one you ended up with? I only have one of the red leghorns and mine too is a cockerel. Fortunately, I found someone that has been looking everywhere for a male, even wished they could import one, LOL. Now I just need to ship him off. I would have ended up putting him in the freezer. Not a lot of use for one male bird of a breed/variety.

I can't wait to see how it works for you.

The firemen stuff is cracking me up!mossy you have to name her sesquilluon. She is one in many millions.

I have to whine a bit. I broke down off my " no vaccines" high horse and was trying to do what I can about the stuff brought in by wild birds that can hang around. So I vaccinated against in and Newcastle ( they come together)

After a whole bunch of research I found an Australian report that checked blood work etc and found that instead of every 8 weeks 90% of birds keep immunity around if you do it twice. So that was the plan.

There was a little aside that you could get some mild side affects on some birds with some coughs and rattling breathing.

OMG. 1/3 of my birds have sever symptoms. I finally did some deeper research and it said if it is a sever symptom give a course of tylan because of fear of secondary stuff coming in. So I'm sticking all these darn birds who are in a bad mood because they don't feel well but still have energy to fight me because they are not really sick!

It is working but this sucks! I have never taken antibiotics myself so I'm not keen on it . I gotten it in my mouth, stuck myself, squirted it on my foot.

And everyone hates me now. Ungrateful birds.

If this happens the second time I'm gonna shoot myself.

I put my first set of eggs that went to 104 in lockdown today but it dies not look good.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this website. Just became a chicken owner for the first time two days ago. We live on the coast near Mendocino. We have four week old chicks. Growing up, I had always wanted farm animals. Horses, chickens, etc. now that I am in my early forties, things are finally lining up. We are out in the country, and have plenty of room. This website has been a huge help. I was freaking out when the chicks would fall over asleep while walking and they looked dead. Hahaha I'm like a nervous first time mom again!

I am so sorry about the inoculation problems. Were you using this?

Newcastle-Bronchitis Vaccine

Zoetis (formerly Fort Dodge)

Newcastle Disease(B1-Type, B1 Strain)& Bronchitis(Massachusetts Type & Connecticut Strain)
Vaccine aids in prevention of Newcastle Disease and infectious bronchitis, Massachusetts Type and Connecticut Strain.
Can be given intranasally (1 drop in the nostril), intraocular (1 drop in the eye), or in the drinking water.

The only thing that seems like it might help me is
coccidiosis vaccine but it is easily controlled so probably not. Have yours been getting respiratory illnesses?
