x2!!!

I'm just using tap water. How much Oxine do you add? I'm not sure why I have the smell this time. It's not horrible, just not like the other times.
I think the directions say to use distilled water so you don't get mineral buildup. I know it is a big problem here since we have well water. I think molds can affect your hatch too

I use filtered water and oxine in my Genesis.

where is the best place to buy feed from. The closest place to me is Jones feed then I would have to go way out to Hawes or Shasta lake or that feed store out on Desutes rd By the taco barn.

It is nice to hear from you!

I have traded off chickens at Hawes while traveling to visit my Mom in Shingletown. Someone said that one of the workers was not too friendly but that others were nice and helpful there. I do not know about the other feed stores.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this website. Just became a chicken owner for the first time two days ago. We live on the coast near Mendocino. We have four week old chicks. Growing up, I had always wanted farm animals. Horses, chickens, etc. now that I am in my early forties, things are finally lining up. We are out in the country, and have plenty of room. This website has been a huge help. I was freaking out when the chicks would fall over asleep while walking and they looked dead. Hahaha I'm like a nervous first time mom again!
welcome

Congratulations!

Follow Debs instructions for the amount of oxine per gallon and it should be fine.

I just popped three pre 1982 pennies into my humidity pump tank. The copper is supposed to make a fungicide.

I use Reverse Osmosis water and have had no problems so far with mold or smell.
