I have two pairs and figured I might as well turn it into one trio! I do like one of the boys more than the other (faster developer), so once I know he's fertile...............there will be a taste test

They came from GFF. A friend bought chicks and sold off some extra pairs as they grew and became sexable.

This stuff okay to use as bedding in my chicken coop?
I use this stuff in the coop all the time. It works great, & it composts really well - my 4-ft tall gigantor zucchini plants really like it.

Quote: I do like the blues though, but I'd have to come up with a blue or better yet, a splash to produce them.

At least I'm assuming their genetics work the same as every other blue chicken.

yknow, I've tried to see the blue in blue birds, but they always look grey to me. My uncle and son are color-blind... I wonder if I have some sort of partial color-blindness..

Greenfire has Blue Bresse but not for sale at this time. They are very nice looking too!

I bet the Lady in Lodi will have them soon...

I am about ready to move two of the cockerels into a crate--I will feed them milk soaked Kamut scratch for two weeks and the process them.

They are supposed to gain two pounds and kind of marble the fat. Dang, I am getting hungry now.....
