California - Northern

Good idea, Ron! I'm going to try to find him a home first :( Good to know how to fatten 'em up though!!

I fixed my post--I was supposed to type in Milk.

I am using Organic Kamut scratch soaked in milk. The Bresse have been eating it for a week and they will be processed after next weekend.

They are supposed to gain two pounds eating this.

I got my eggs from Karen (sewandgrow). I got 4 BCM, 1 Ameraucana, and 3 OE's. All of the BCM's hatched, and the 1 Ameraucana. I'm not having a good feeling about the last 3 OEs, think mama's going to leave the nest soon. I don't hear anything in the eggs either. The Ameraucana is black so far, I think she has B/B/S. I will go out and get some new chick pics. The EE's are doing good, so far no crowing so I think I got 2 girls. Yay!
I met Karen at the Stockton show. She is very nice! She has some great birds too

Congratulations on the chicks! So glad you ended up with a couple of pullets!! My final count was 8 roosters and two pullets!

I lost one of the pullets to Cocci so now I have one lone pullet to find a home for

Hi guys! Didn't realize there was a Nor cal thread. Wasn't able to make it to the Stockton show this year because my goats were having kids. Hopefully next year, and so I can bring a few birds. Oh, and do any of you know if they allow Sizzles?

This was mostly just a test to see if they fixed the problem of posting photos with IE. It is still a little fussy, I had to hit preview each time to add another photo. Anyway, these are my new LF chocolate orpingtons

I'm really hoping for a pair, since I only hatched two.

These are my new crele orpingtons

And this is one of my new lavender orpingtons

I also hatched a bunch of bantam black & chocolate orpingtons, but I didn't do a photo shoot with them.

Okay, enough messing around and back to chores.

Welcome! I think sizzles are AOV for the variety of chicken they come from ( cochin, silkie, etc) But the Silkie compititiom was KILLER this year due to it being Nationals. California still did well but there were silkies from all over the country.

So pretty! I especially love the color on the Crele chicks!

I have been wanting to add the Crele color to my menagerie but haven't decided which breed yet.
