Wow! No wonder you wanted some! I would love to see how your chicks turn out. Hopefully you will keep us updated with photos. I might have to check in with you next year when they start laying!

Really? Um hatched in March, hasn't crowed yet but I guessed from the comb and wattle that it was a cockerel. The other 2 squat for me but this one doesn't.I totally would have guessed this to be a hen. How old is it?
Welcome to the thread; I'm in Modesto.
I'm pretty sure the one that's more of a butterscotch color is a pullet; so far so good. The others were very obviously cockerels. Sorry to hear about your pullet, it's sad to lose chickensI met Karen at the Stockton show. She is very nice! She has some great birds tooCongratulations on the chicks! So glad you ended up with a couple of pullets!! My final count was 8 roosters and two pullets!
I lost one of the pullets to Cocci so now I have one lone pullet to find a home for![]()

Your daughter is absolutely adorable!![]()
Hi guys! Didn't realize there was a Nor cal thread. Wasn't able to make it to the Stockton show this year because my goats were having kids. Hopefully next year, and so I can bring a few birds. Oh, and do any of you know if they allow Sizzles?
really cool RonI had to have a smog test run on my Honda today--It passed fine. While I was waiting, I went to Hays feed to check on the new Bar Ale Natural. It is a 40 pound bag and the Grower cost is $29.00 and the Layer Pellets are $28.00.
Much more expensive than the King Feed Freedom at 50# for 22.50 per bag.
I have 8 Pita Pinta and 1 EO Basque hen hatched out of 11 set. The 10th one has a pip!
Pictures later.
