Congratulations on the chicks! So glad you ended up with a couple of pullets!! My final count was 8 roosters and two pullets!

I lost one of the pullets to Cocci so now I have one lone pullet to find a home for

Your daughter is absolutely adorable!

I'm pretty sure the one that's more of a butterscotch color is a pullet; so far so good. The others were very obviously cockerels. Sorry to hear about your pullet, it's sad to lose chickens :(

Hi guys! Didn't realize there was a Nor cal thread. Wasn't able to make it to the Stockton show this year because my goats were having kids. Hopefully next year, and so I can bring a few birds. Oh, and do any of you know if they allow Sizzles?

Hello and Welcome to the Nor Cal Thread!

Hope to see you next year in Stockton - you missed a huge show with lots of Bantams! I don't think I have ever heard so many piercing crows in my life - all at one time. Good thing the building was huge

If by Sizzles you mean Frizzled Silkies they are shown under Silkies, Frizzled. If they are the un-silkie feathered ones (Silkies x Cochin?) I don't think they are accepted yet and I don't know if they can be shown. I think some people are working on that - but getting a breed accepted is a 5+ year process. Does anybody have a SOP they can look it up in?

Ihave two regular feathered Frizzled Silkie looking birds now - they sure are cute!

I had to have a smog test run on my Honda today--It passed fine. While I was waiting, I went to Hays feed to check on the new Bar Ale Natural. It is a 40 pound bag and the Grower cost is $29.00 and the Layer Pellets are $28.00.

Much more expensive than the King Feed Freedom at 50# for 22.50 per bag.

I have 8 Pita Pinta and 1 EO Basque hen hatched out of 11 set. The 10th one has a pip!

Pictures later.
