Too many quail go well with too many chickens!!

Yes, the recipe for baked quail called for 8 of them. I would need a lot of Quail to make dinner!

I do love Quail eggs though.

Our downstairs is cooler so we sleep there. It's days like this that make me regret moving from Watsonville, near Santa Cruz and Monterey. Wish I had the money to move back.

It is usually not to bad at our elevation though. just older houses up here are not equipped for heat

My layer flock is a disaster ! I have 6 hens at the point of lay- two are crowing/ maybe one more! I have 11 8 weekers and one ee is crowing In The garage and several well summers are looking suspicious ! I'm not set up to process and dh won't ..... And the Australorp is crowing ALL day . I bought sexes pullets in a stagger to keep the brooders from getting over crowded. But now I have roosters
Of all ages... What a backfire! If I were hatching these guys at least there would be a harvest of Roos and excess hens to take to the butcher at once! What to do!!!!!

They do crow. But its a bird sound. One stinker has been up looking for lady loves between 2-3 in the courtyard under the window. Mind you he IS Italian....

So... Will it wake up people 500 feet from their coop? I prob should look up a video. Of to utube! I only want one rooster to avoid crow wars. Will quail aggravate Roos the way roos aggrivate EACHOTHER?

I don't think they encourage the roos. I don't think he wakes me up so much as I hear him between sleep cycles.

Quails are no Orlando or snicker daddy.

Those stories have stuck with me! And this huge australorp rooster is bugging ME so I know my neighbors are @&$. We just bought this house a few months ago and this is a bad intro !
