Looks like I have 2 roo's in my flock. They are Mounting the 2 big Buff's I have and one roo actually got lucky and then jumped off and the Buff wagged her tail feathers like "OMG eeewww.." Don't know if this roos is potent or not at this age?? 5 1/2 months maybe?
Returned from an anniversary get away on the coast. Missing the fog already. My sympathy for all recent losses. I was concerned that something might happen when we were away, although logic tells me anything can happen even when we are home. Came home to a change - our CL pullet no longer chirps - she's sounding like a big girl overnight! She has a deep cluck and seems to try to talk more. That happened at some point in the 5 days we were away. She is about 14 weeks old now. Our other 2 are about 13 weeks and they aren't vocalizing as much as a week ago. Got me to wondering if different breeds have different vocalizations? Each week is closer to first egg time.![]()
Sorry about the loss be careful shooting at a bear with a pellet gun. if it does not run off you dont want it to charge you. What about a air hornAll cleaned up. Now I'm mad... It's quite an emotional roller coaster ya know?
The agency here would be bear league and some of them sound a lot like PETA people:-( the problem is available garbage !
It would only support the opinion of banning my hens..... So out with the bells on the doors, the dog sleeping in her run , the pellet gun loaded, and additional latches giving more fumbling time to the bear and more running time to me. He has to see it as "not worth it " to come here. The only way.
Thank you for the hugs. Of course they were the sweetest.. Cuckoo
Marans, buf brahma , and ee:-(((()
Now of to the DIY , tire rotation and check for nails( pressure sensor keeps going off) driving school( new teenage driver) , AND I'm hoping for a txt saying my daughter in law is in labor. What have I signed up for in this life of mine!?!
Ron , my opinion of your character increases with each if your post! I may pm u if I can't do it this afternoon. I'm pretty far here in south lake. But I struggle with the unknown ( ultra OCD I guess) and have never even watched.... And have no family helpers....

The first two macaw eggs went into the incubator last night. My DH came down to visit me at the Fair. I sent him home with the eggs and he added them to the cabinet when he got home................he had very explicit instructions, LOL
He also took home about half of the chicks that had hatched so far. The brooder was getting VERY crowded. The babies that had hatched since two days before the Fair even opened were getting big and very busy. I can't believe how big the ducklings have gotten I brought down to loan for their display. I'm glad they haven't been at my house. I don't know where I'll put them when they get back home!
Wow an archaeologist! What a cool job! What kind of deep fried foods did you eat? (off limits on my torturous diet, living vicariously through you)I went to the Fair on Sunday, but I didn't see any chicken experts in the Fur and Feathers area! Actually, I was a little disappointed that they had all the rabbits in there, and none of the show chickens. Which isn't to say that I didn't enjoy the chicks and ducklings immensely! My boyfriend (who tolerates my chicken obsession) had a serious bonding moment with the ducklings, which I thoroughly encouraged. Then we ate as many deep-fried things as possible.
I haven't been online much since starting a new job (kind of my dream job, working as an archaeologist in California) but I enjoy my catch-up sessions on the Northern California thread! Sorry for all the hardships and congratulations on all the new chicks, everyone!
