gorgeous chickee....I have noticed the same thing. My Icelandics, one of my EEs and my OE all have golden heads and dark bodies and they hang together too. Will you have hatching eggs in the future?

Yes, I hope to have hatching eggs available in the future. Two of these pullets are for sale as layers only since they have yellow legs if you are interested.

Those brick chickens are spectacular Ron! I tried to hatch some from Jim Heinz but I have bad luck with his eggs. He packs great and they start but something always happens.

The blue eggs are wonderful too Liz! Everyone chickens look happy and healthy I'm glad to see it!

I had a good surprise today. We got skunked on Thursday. Rufasheard it trying to get my quails and woke up and ran right to it. ( ok that part was not as good news) While I was washing the dog outside I heard it get something in the ravine and thought we had lost another bird. In the morning pancake was missing and I thought she had gotten sick of trying to fight ebony for her eggs and taken a few outside for her own nest and gotten caught.

Instead she had stolen chicks from some other girls and was hiding in the shed but fine! She brought her purloined brood out for treats this morning.

If anyone's dog does get skunked the peroxide and baking soda works really well.

Anyone know much about fertility? My worst purchase ever the showgirls from the east coast that i lost 2 to merriks are now also looking to have spectacularly low fertility. I have heard b shots work well but what b and to roos or hens? I am also going to get them some of kings fertility food. They are little money pits.

I have people who would like some eggs but I'm not sending anything out when I'm only getting 1/4 start.

That is a shame about your Silkies

Maybe some alfalfa leaf? I have read that it is one of the best sources of vitamins. I buy the organic alfalfa leaf tea in bulk at the health food store and mix it into my birds food.

Hope you are able to solve the fertility problem. I would like some eggs too

I second the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda! My dog was skunked for the first time last Friday. A solution of 1 qt hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 c baking soda, 2 tsp dish soap left on for 5 min did the job. She skunked in the face, of course, so we did 2 rounds of treatment on her head. All that was left was a very slight smell. I can't say the same for the house, though. Someone mistakenly let her in before fully realizing that she had been skunked!

Just washed chicken butts and omg! Those English partridge orps butts are fluffy!!! I got them from greenfire as adults as original imports. One of them looks like her feathers around her vent have been clipped or plucked. Will I need to do this? To keep them clean or for fertility?

Most likely. That is one of the things some Orps need for fertility.

You may need to groom the Rooster too.

IMO pluching works better then trimming. Some boys don't like to be poked by feather trimmings.

You get a much better result with their "parts" being able to touch properly.
