Well, I ALMOST bought a new place, but after I accepted their counter-offer, the very next evening they decided not to sell. (Family member interference.)

I am really, really disappointed.

On the bright side, now you can look some more. The next place might be even better!

Oh bummer.

I mis-wrote, the seller decided last night, the day after Escrow was opened, he didn't want to sell the property after all. I had three days of excitement and planning before it got stopped.

Their agent was discussing the well and septic inspections (paid for by me) and asking for times / dates to accommodate scheduling them when the elderly male owner suddenly decided he didn't want to sell the property after all. He also told his (mature) daughter to leave as she was no longer welcome there. It was quite shocking.

I can TOTALLY understand the fear of change, of "giving up" property one has owned and occupied for thirty years. It doesn't stop me from being hugely disappointed.

It is a porous egg which is not bad my itself. The lines look like weak spots and not cracks.

Regardless, there is no development showing. you should see veins and a black spot by now. If it does not smell bad, leave it in for several more days and check it again for veins and a little chick.

For those who were interested in the improvement of my injured Brahma chick. She is fine now. She runs and runs around with the rest of the chicks. Only issue is she is smaller than the rest of the flock.
