Hmmm wonder what they useI'm not sure, but that's exactly what my EE from McMurray hatchery looks like. Her eggs are a really pretty bright blue.
I went outside to put up the other half of the feeder that I was working on and I went outside the run to get something and the top of it fell over scaring the chickens and my Polish ran into the side of the run head first. She laid there like she was dead but then she slowly got up and moved very slowly a few feet sort of dazed but all she is doing now is laying down. She puffs up her back feathers and lays down. She is the only one laying down right now.
Do you think she is just dazed or since the Polish have that funky skull do you think she really hurt herself? How do I know for sure? I know she isn't right at this moment, but I am wondering if she will shake it off or if she is seriously injured. Any signs to look for?
Since I think the Polish have the vaulted skull I am thinking she might have brain swelling. She is sort of acting like people do when they have a concussion. Just wants to sleep. She is literally sleeping in the run with her head under her wing.
Does anyone know of any anti-inflamitories I can give a chicken?

Hi Chiqita. When do you resort to Pred? After trying that or if you have it to do you do Prednisone first?1 or 1/2 low dosage aspirin vitiman e with selenium (sp) and a b ( b12 mebby?) If that doesn't do it the next step is prescription and you need to research. The e by itself won't be absorbed at all.
This works great with chickens hit or miss on quail.
