Yes to hatching better. Some think that too much protein will make them lay less.

Roosters are not supposed to have extra calcium--it hurts their kidneys.

The wyandottes have always eaten game or turkey game when molting. I put lay pellets in a couple of times and they just threw them on the ground. They are very regular layers but they do go need extra oyster shell more than my layers do. For the size of the bird they are quite frugal with the feed.

I have noticed that my new Black and Blue Australorps are not heavy eaters. Of course the Penedesenca and Penedesenca x Cream Legbars are very thrifty too. The Marans were very hungry.....

So is it better to feed Everybody game feed and then have Oystershell free choice? I sell hatching eggs so I need their production to continue but I don't want to hurt the roosters

A Grower type is fine--around 20% along with free choice calcium with flocks that have Roosters in them. Even Hens that are not laying are not supposed to have high levels of calcium. They will eat the Oystershell if they need more calcium.

The Game feed would be good for conditioning before a show or during molt when the extra protein is needed.

I was in Costco last night and if I hadn't read it on here I would have walked right by the Organic Layer feed! As it was I almost missed it and had to do a double take to see what was in that brown sack. At first I thought it was flour and then when I looked closer I saw that it was the Organic feed that was talked about on here recently. $19.99 for 40 lbs isn't too bad. I hope they keep it but I bet they are testing to see if anyone buys it. I may go back and get some more. They are doing a whole "organic" promotion in the store with a bunch of different products. This was in the Citrus Heights Costco just FYI.

I feed Rogue brand game bird (Grange Co-Op), it is 21%, they make turkey/game that is 28%.

Just collected eggs and oh my I have never seen anything like this...it's hard shell and stuck down. Like the start of another egg...eew lol weird!!
