They should settle down and get back normal now. It is good to be finished moving I bet.

Yeah, hard to scramble without the pan to cook them in though. I am glad to be done with all the heavy stuff, I just have a lot of rearranging to do. I am less one Pantry, one linen closet and a proper laundry room here, so I am having issues getting things out of the boxes with no where to put them.

It's okay, it will keep me busy for a while and make me less likely to succumb to chicken math.

My grandmother insisted I play meditation music for the chick 24/7 so I'm doing that lol. She actually likes it...

You know if I was a landlord that would have a totally different meaning. I am sure I would not be as excited about it then......... I tested her again this morning just to be sure..... yup she is a solid squatter. Everyone else I tried to pet just squawked and ran away! lol

7 GORGEOUS and healthy Breda babies are literally bouncing in my incubator right now.

I am so pleased. 7 out of 12 eggs, with 10 going into lockdown, is great. I'm so extremely happy.

I had to look those up as I really haven't heard of them before. They are pretty! What colors will they be?

Aarg! It always happen in clusters. I just got home to see that one of the 7 chicks that made it out of the terrible hatch has a leg off and a turned foot and is gasping.

I'm going to hand feed her honey water ( did nutri first but dont want her to have too much mollassas) and make a boot tonight. How bad is leaving hobbling her for another day to see if she is going to pass from the gasping? ( I'm guessing it is all issues from being cemented in her egg and perhaps breathing egg too) I don't want her to be more miserable if she is on her way put and they hate hobbles.

I may be losing one of my 3 going of 4 year old Hatchery Barred Plymouth Rocks. She is in Hospital\Hospice care now. She does not seem to be suffering.

The BAs had the liver disease. Her sister is living in Davis now--replacing older hens killed by a Racoon last summer. She is acting like she has Mareks cancer or just old age. She is very thin and moving slowly. She still eats and drinks. I am treating with Corid but she will likely not make it.

You never know though. I had a RIR recover last summer.

I had a few chickens die of cold like symptoms. Can I vaccinate the rest of my flock? What can I use? They're we're quarantined but I want to make sure. I have a lot invested in then

Chickens do not catch colds, so respiratory illnesses are not usually good. I do not know of vaccines for them.

Did you send them in for Necropsy? Double bag and refrigerate them and get them to Davis Monday. If you are close to campus, they have a fridge for off hours submissions sot they can be submitted tomorrow.

It is free for flocks under 1000 and three a day can be submitted.

No more have died. Just symptoms. I didn't keep the ones that died. I just need to know what I can do for the others

it depends on what it is, could be a large variety of things. Step one, necro. and determine what it is. there is no MG vaccine, ( but you can test each individual chicken to see if they have it via blood test iirc) you can vaccinate against IB/newcastles but its LIVE virus and can be worse then the problem, You can vaccinate against marek's, but it can only be guaranteed useful when done as chicks.
