beautiful birds!

for those of you who use EcoGlows, as the chicks get larger (mine are about 16 days old, there are 7 of them), do you raise the warmer panel up a notch, or do they just keep squeezing underneath it at the lowest setting? does it ever get too hot for them under there?

thanks!

At 16 days they are almost always on the second setting. By 3 to 4 weeks they are on the highest setting and soon sleeping on top of it.

Silly chickens!

Does anyone know of anywhere that has King Freedom Layer pellets in stock? Anywhere between Auburn to Fairfield out to Woodland ? That will be my driving route on Saturday and Western Pet and Feed has been out for at least 3 weeks. They keep saying they have ordered it but it isn't there yet. I keep getting the maybe next week answer.

So far the girls are doing really good on it and like it. The other 3 kinds I tried before weren't as popular.

I am having the same problem.

I am going to call Hayes Feed in Woodland to see if they can get it for me. The problem appears to be with the Carmichael Warehouse, not King Feed.

I may be butchering my older lemon cuckoo orp rooster unless some one local is interested? I don't want them to be overcrowded this winter. I have 5 more little guys that will be moving in my cock pen shortly. Its only an 8 x8 with 5 cocks in there already. They are all double bar and good size. My link is in my sigy for their summer pics.

Jason, what is the difference between the Silver and Silver Duckwing Ameraucanas?

We just might have to do an order for the people up here in the foothills

Jerry Seigler had told me that the hens are the same and the roosters are close too with the exception silver duckling has a black stripe in the neck and saddle feathers and silver does not. that was it. Just a gene expressed differently.
Ron I may take a few eggs / or chicks if anyone can get a picture.

I adjust it as they grow. If they have to "crawl" to get under it, it's too low. Speaking of which, I need to go adjust mine.
