Here Norma is in her flowerpot. Flattened out and stuck. I lifted her out and carried her over to where the rest of the flock was snacking and she blew herself up and did that puffed up bucbucbucbuc thing...sigh she can't nest in the flowerpot safely. Any advice?

Maybe put an old towel in it with some shavings so it rises enough so she doesn't get stuck?

when she is asleep you can put some straw in it to bring up the level. They are easier to move that way, then put the pot in a safe location while she is in it. . She may change her mind too.

I have not seen deb lately. She got a bad shot and was having arm pain, i wonder if she is off the computer. The kittens are all on my lap trying to tpe. For once any typos are not my fault...

I think she was going on another trip.

I hope she gets back soon.

hope she is having fun and feeling well whatever is going on.

No I am pretty sure they only offer Straight-run.  They also request that you offer 2nd and 3rd choices if possible.

I am thinking about getting White Faced Black Spanish chicks, and since they are not sexed, will have to order at least twice as much. When are you planning to place the order?

A Big thank you to @chiqita for the beautiful Bresse babies today!! Also for the cute Orpington/(CL or Marans) cross! They are all doing well tonight, and mama has taken them in. She hatched what looks like a Splash Marans with nice leg feathering from one of my darkest eggs(It HAS to be a girl!!)
But what was really neat was my son helped me put them under the hen today. Remembering the things my grandma taught me when I helped her put chicks under a hen. Now I get to do that with my kids. That brought back memories. Now I have another chicken enthusiast over here. He saw picks of a polish last week and said "wow, let's get some of those!! they're cool!".

I would love to have a calendar with just your pics in it!

That just made my day! Thank you!

Hmmmm..... you guys are so good at enabling. Maybe I'll start taking chicken pics by the season. Wouldn't a calender get boring with only 8 chickens repeating in it though?

While poking around for a picture, I found a link to winners from the 2013 Minnesota State fair--An urch Silver Duckwing Ameraucana was a winner there.

So if a chicken wins at a poultry competition, does that make them Show Quality?

Here is a pdf of the winners:

Check out how many Urch's are winners and the Breeds.
Good Job super sleuth!!!
