here is the last of my April hatch hold outs. This is Hatti she is an Icelandic and she takes what my Grandma Bobbie would have called "a dim view" of me...isn't she hysterical! She has been poking around the nest boxes and I was able to snatch this pic of her yesterday when I caught her alone in the coop. She is NOT pleased haha giving me the royal stink eye! She is 7 mos old and maybe I will get an egg in the next week.

I hope that when she starts to lay she will start to like me better. That happened with my other Icelandic, Rue. She doesn't want me picking her up or anything but she will let me caress her chest and will FINALLY eat from my hand. Hatti not so much but Tom likes her and Rue so they will be staying.

I hope she starts liking you when she starts laying too..Which looks to be any day now.

I have been quite frustrated with Western Pet and Feed not getting King Feed for me. I saw a post on here about Bar Ale coming out with a Non GMO layer. I checked their website and they only had Natural. It was Non Soy but had corn in it. I called Hayes feed and asked about the Natural and she said no, but we have Non GMO!

I picked up two 40# bags today for $16.46 each:


It has Fish meal in it!

I want this in a whole flock formulation!!! I am having a devil of a time finding a quality feed that I can give to roosters and chicks in addition to the hens...I know I can give them a grower but I am not having any luck finding a gmo free one.

I love the idea of a public vow renewal mostly b/c I want to feel like a bride again but in reality DH and I renew every time we say that we would do it all over again in a heartbeat...which we would

We also would have different people there standing up with us regardless of the weather...I had my high school best friend as my MOH and she and I have grown apart even though she just lives one town over.
