I don't think you can legally ship chicks if you are not npip period. Hawaii and Virginia check and you have to send your copies of their paperwork with the chicks.

Ymmv with other states.
It looks like Ohio is very strict too.

Anyone know which states you can't ship chicks to if you're not npip?

When I rec'vd my first EGGS they said I had to show NPIP papers before the postmaster would allow delivery, I went to pick them up praying the shipper sent paperwork, when I started opening the box to check for paperwork the postmaster acted horrified that I'd open it there and told me just take em n go...lol good thing cuz there was no paperwork included.

Was that more then a year ago? Virginia says they are not as bad now the age department freaked at ever one over stuff from last year. They were need certification on everything including chicks ever 3 months or something. The npip programs are so vastly different by state they seem almost a moot point imo.

Um I live in WEST VIRGINIA. It is a separate state from Virginia. I guess in this state it depends on the postmasters ability to tolerate the smell of chicky poo or broken eggs. Lol

I just did a very scary thing.

I emailed the contact person regarding NPIP. Makes me more than a little nervous as I'm not at all fond of big brother management. We like our privacy and this may all be a waste of my time as we might not do anything. I will however, pass on information I get. They wanted particulars but I just want a .pdf of FAQ. We shall see...
