and this is kind of silly but kind of cool -- my coops are featured today on the website of the guy who i got the original designs from:

Very cool! Have to show this to DH. He told me that I can design the next coop and he will build it exactly how I want it!

Thank you, thank you!
Right now I only have 4 hens, we had a sad stray dog incident not too long ago. I have a red bantam cochin, araucana, gold sex link, and a black australorp! Hopefully I'll be adding more soon! We are taking advantage of not having a big bunch right now to move and expand our coop, and get a fodder system started. We live on 10 acres that they free range on all day. Though, I think that my be the cause of my lack of eggs. The naughty girls aren't laying where they should.

Thank you Ron. My girl Norma didn't coop last night. She has done that before and has always been there in the morning. But I didn't see any sign of her this morning. It is possible she is off somewhere sitting on eggs since she did go broody in a flower pot several weeks back. I hope she surfaces today or in 20 days with babies in tow. Also I have a line on nankin, mottled/frizzed cochin and silver and colombian sussex hatching eggs so I am excited for broody fever to hit. I just hope we enough nest boxes when it does.
yes, I hope she turns up.

i have to say, it's a fantastic set of plans -- very detailed and thorough, but also very adaptable (as one can see from my various coops) -- they look great and function great. and the GardenCoops.com guy, John, is incredibly nice.

You are quite the chicken celebrity! It's because everything you do is so beautiful!
Hi!

I hope this is the right place for me to post! I just joined BYC last night, after having chickens for a little over a year. We are located in Acampo, just outside of Lodi & Stockton!

Welcome! I love lodi it's a beautiful area. It's one of my fantasy areas to live except for the whole 110 thing...

Thank you, thank you!

Very nice flock and place you have!

What are you looking for? Do you have a coop plan yet?

Thanks for all the Norma support you guys. I didn't hear a disturbance and Norma is LOUD! My daughter calls her a drama queen because the slightest nudge or peck or sideways glance from another bird gets her squawking. Plus with all the feral peas we have, nothing happens without us knowing about it. I haven't had the chance to look for a feather pile.
