California - Northern

and in unrelated but still chicken oriented news.

I went ahead and put my limper back into the flock. She seems to be doing well. I am off to Tahoe tomorrow for a girls weekend so hope she will be fine in my absence.

7 eggs for 16 layers again today... 4 of my young girls stopped giving me eggs when I stopped letting them out mid morning b/c I went back to work. Do you think those two things are related? I had my daughter let them out before I got home today so we will see if they lay more.

I may have a home for my Icelandic girls with the same people that took my Icelandic boys off my hands. Two Javas coming in...two Icelandics going out.

Both Ozzie and the General are totally fine with the 10 week old cockerels. Is that because they have known them since they were tiny? I am really happy about it becuase it is easier than figuring out how to house them separately. Hope the trend continues.

I think here is 4600-4700 ish. do u happen to know where hamilton branch is? i may not need any this year. i have an order of chicks from cackle coming in feb. one thing i really want is a frizzled silkie they are adorable

If you want frizzles or frilkies your better off getting chicks. You breed frizzle to smooth so you Get 50% of each (or 25% of Each if you are getting all 4 types frizzle frilkies silkie and smooth)

I'm glad anti onion was so popular. Now we really to name a chicken after him!

Good for the Cockerels!

It was Windy and then we are going from freezing to record highs each day this week. That will throw them out of whack.

Keeping them inside makes them lay more not less. They will pick up by Sunday--unless we have another wind storm.

It is a chicken with the turned up feathers that are still silky. Rather then looking like they sat on a light socket they look like they are having a bad hair day.

Just hatched some cute fluffy butts =) barred rocks, buff Brahma bantams, Oeg bamtam and a tiny serama. ,15 total with a 73% hatch rate =)
