Would the egg laid by a young pullet who is still laying small eggs grow into a healthy bird any less than from a mature hen who is laying larger eggs?
Probably but it is better to wait until the eggs get bigger. It is usually 4 to 8 weeks of laying. For Large fowl, 45G would be the small end. Jumbo has a lower hatch rate too.

OK, I just fired up my incubator. For those of you that are on my list for BWA and GCMs, keep your fingers crossed that there are lots of BWA and GCM pullets in there for you! I am hatching out some bantam BLRW chicks for a BYCer in Nevada, but I should have some extras if anyone is interested. :) I still have room in the back row for any other eggs that are laid today.
Oh chickee I have questions!! Do you have the humidity pump? With it brinsea cautions about the moisture wick touching eggs. Just curious what set up that is Mostly: how did you pack those?? Is that the foam in between your rows? Kind of looks like it but if I use the foam I can only get 3 rows. I just can't tell from here

If you space the rails in at 2, 4, and 6 inches the eggs will fit without the humidity paper touching them. I got tired of trying to figure out where the rails went back in after taking them out to clean, so I put a black dot with a Sharpie on each side where the rails go in at the 2, 4  and 6 inch intervals. I always use the foam inserts. I like how snug they keep the eggs. I use the extra strips of foam on the row ends to fill the gaps if the rows aren't full of eggs to keep those eggs from falling over.

Good luck! :)
I just saw this, thank you so much!! I was so frustrated this morning thinking I've spent money to only be able to hatch 16 max. Thank you :)

I think I over stuffed my genesis incubator this time, LOL. Not much room in there! They are due to start hatching Sunday.

It is just full--over stuffed would be if they were stacked on top of each other!

I hope they hatch well for you!

I've read of people stacking. Not sure how well that would work out. Would love pics if anyone has done it
