Holy chicken madness batman. I had a zillion people reply to the first ad of the season. I've been juggling who wants what and what's going where hoping everything falls into place! I won't know if they all fall into place untill monday.
I like watching all the balls in the air!

I think I over stuffed my genesis incubator this time, LOL. Not much room in there! They are due to start hatching Sunday.

Now see....that's what I want the top of my bater to look like. I wanna be able to see ALL the eggs!

Ok I have to ask you bio folks. Aren't all females that carry eggs carrying all the eggs they will have? I thought every female was born with about a million eggs or some such....

As I understand it, yes.

I was given the following information regarding breeding Marans;
bk= Black, bl= Blue, Sp= Splash
Bk x Bk = 100% Bk
Bk x bl= 50% Bk, 50% bl
Bk x Sp = 100% bl

bl x bl = 25% Bk, 50% bl, 25% Sp
bl x Sp = 50% bl, 50% Sp
***
Sp x Sp = 100% Sp

Does this also apply to all breeds?

Yep. Blue is just a dilution of black, splash is double copies of the blue gene.
