California - Northern

Since the show I can't stop thinking about those pretty blue and splash AM's. I have lavenders but those show girls were pretty! Wish mine were that quality. I'm finding I have a preference for blues just all around :)

The R-Com Max 20

Love it but should of bought the 50 lol. however I don't want to hatch my olive eggers with the crele once I am on the first cross back to father
I hatched a bunch of chicks for Cheryl a couple of years ago and used her R-com 50. I loved it! But the price stops me from buying one.

Did you see the gorgeous Jersey Giant splash pullet? There were 2 of them but IMO the one had the prettiest splash markings that I have ever seen!

I did! There were some amazing birds that I would have loved to take home if they'd let me :)
And congrats on your beautiful Langshans. They are really nice!!

yes the 50 is super expensive. The 20 wasn't cheap either but its already paid for itself for me
I have a GQF digital cabinet hatcher. It is around a year old and I bought it used for $350 with the egg trays included. It holds temp and humidity really well even when you have to open the door to fiddle with the eggs. But it is a hatcher and doesn't have automatic turners. We are going to try splitting the cord on a turner and inserting the electric cord through one of the vent holes. I did one round of turning the eggs 3 times a day and that was enough. It is fine if I have no life for those 3 weeks but I can't imagine doing that for consecutive hatches. I was drooling over the Sportsman cabinet incubator that they had at the show. They dropped the price to $749 mid afternoon but that is still too pricey for me.

I had a great time at the show. Mary and I laughed every time we walked by the Call Ducks, they were hilarious! @capayvalleychick , it was nice to meet you.

Walt - I really appreciate you taking the time to talk with me and helping me better understand the breeds I'm working with. It was great to pick your brain. And congratulations on winning Best Waterfowl with your Runner duck!

I enjoyed putting a face with the name and hopefully I gave you some useful advice. This is my club show, so I get crazy busy there. We were also have the APA qualifying meet for the Ko Shamo bantams so I had a lot of balls in the air. If I ever mention entering 60+ birds in a show again please someone shoot me in the head. It is always great to win a big prize with a runner duck, as it is one of the few breeds that are tested on performance (Station) by running them in a group. We had best and res light duck with the Runners.

There were people there that I didn't even see the whole day. I finally have the birds put away.........
