How does one harvest the male's products to inseminate the hen? LOL
pippet! what I dont know is how to make him release the sperm...

well I don't have to harvest at least.
with restrictions on exportations on Spain one way around it sounds to be shipping the goods and giving it to our hens.
so they would have to be isolated awhile for sure
I think it dies REALLY fast, but maybe you could try it? I remember thinking you could not transport to hens across town. I have one silkie rooster that is so fine I thought I could sell his sperm.

the Dr. Mentioned it would be diluted and yes would be in small tubes assuming frozen to Ron

I wasn't really tempted by any particular breed but am a sucker for Splashes. I have 3 in my layer pen 2 true Ameraucanas & 1 Marans. I would like more but sold the breeders I got those from. I ended up buying some Brown Leghorns from Paso Robles just to have a few white eggs.

So Ron is recieving illect sperm in the mail?? are we paying for it in bitcoins? ( Ok, for those of you who are into the nefarious dark web, I'm imagining selling verboten sperm on silk road now! we could make our own marketplace black farm! Silkie road!)

Chrissy should have splash marans around! I will post some pictures of the silkie I cant tell if its silver partridge or splash for you!
"FINE SILKIE SPERM FOR SALE" hahaha @chiqita
HEY! he is a gorgous boy! But wont mate, its all going to waste! Moppet needs some help from his less metrosexual bretherin.

You are talking about the Eco glows right? The small one? I bought 4 when they were on sale last year then ended up not hatching but a hen went broody & we raised her chicks in the incubator with one & my husband borrowed one for the doghouse in the yard for our little dog during cold weather.....LOL. I put one in each brooder & stayed under the recommended amount of chicks & was pleasantly surprised. I would have added more if I but more chicks in. I had to get used to them being okay in the dark. Before the Eco glows I used light bulbs for each brooder & could always look in & see the chicks.

i've got two beautiful splash isbar pullets 2/3-grown now, and hoping to hatch some more eggs this weekend... they are such elegant birds! once the older two reach POL, i'll have eggs from them x my blue isbar boy -- probably around April or so?

I have a pair also when do they start to lay usually?

i don't know, these are my first isbar pullets! one is about 3 months now, the other roughly 4.5 months... i'll let you know once they do!

my isbar/marans crosses started laying right around 6 months, maybe a little less -- i didn't keep careful records.
