@ronott1 isnt the embryo supposed to be in the middle not the side?
When you crack an egg open, the embryo is on one side of the egg yolk. The chick starts there so it will be on one side. That is why turning is important after day 7 or 8 to keep the little thing from sticking to the shell.

If you watch my candling video, the chick is on the side.

What day id that egg on? Mine done move that much either that or the light is to dull.
so could it be im just seeing the yolk itself?

That is day 8 or so I think. It is an SG Dorking egg so it is very light colored and the candler is a High intensity Brinsea. You do not always see them that clearly, especially in the dark shelled eggs.

If you see the speck and then the veins than all is well so far.

Hatching egg is amazing!

The egg in my Avatar is a Pita Pinta egg at about 8 days. you can see the embryo on the side in it too.

That's what my Serama eggs looked like!!! So cute. I saw the little sweet bean bouncing around! :)

I shared a picture of @PetRock s new Langshans today and they loved them!

Here is a Pita Pinta to go with the ones PetRock posted today:

I will get a new picture of the Boy tomorrow.
Nice! Here is a pic of my boy Zoro notifying the neighborhood that he is here. He may not last long here in town. Roosters are legal in my town but there is a noise ordinance and I sure don't want upset neighbors. Plus, he is driving my DH crazy with his crowing. He has on a homemade rooster collar but it is not working. Maybe I just don't have it on tight enough. I took it off tonight and he has bare spots on his neck. It will probably be better for him to go to the farm.

The lady that makes them has now gone commercial. Hopefully they are sturdier now.

The collar should be higher up and finger tight.

They look so funny with them on!

Thanks, Ron! Do you put them on top of the feathers or try to pull the feathers out as much as possible?

Mine are sturdy but maybe not tight enough.
