I'm willing to try anything I can. She's in the house right now. I was looking at my flock and they all seem to have longish nails. Or maybe none of them are long...

I've never wormed my flock with anything but natural ways. Should I try worming her/them too?

Where do I get the other meds you mentioned and how much do I give?

Oxine is a type of bleach and disinfectant thats safe for chickens. You can put a bit in a mister and mist them so they breath it it is good if they have anyrhjng in the lungs. La and penicillin are antibiotic. You can get them at tractor supply but I dont know if they wull helo. Corid is a better first guess with the crazy weather. Has she been laying? She could e internally laying they just look ill wirh not a lot of symptoms then. It is gard to tell since it seems so general.

I'm not sure if she's been laying. I found a stash of a bunch of eggs that had to be from her and her sister. But I don't know how long they've been sneaking them there. I get a few eggs a week from her and or her sister. I'll go to the local feed store and get some meds.

If she's laying internal I wouldn't know right... Is there anything I can do to find out/help?

This is my first sick bird and I'm a bit of a mess about it! I feel super insufficient on my knowledge of the poor girl and what to do. Is there a good book or something I can read to help me better understand chickens and the way there bodies are made/how to help when there's a problem?

She's about 1 year old. Should I still give her corid? Where do I get it and how much do I give her?

The oddly colored poo also suggests Cocci.

I would start corid now since they die withing a couple of days from symptoms like you are seeing. 20% powder is at the feed stores. I bought mine from TSC.

20% CORID POWDER....1.5TSP. PER GALLON FOR 5 DAYS and then another 5 days at 1/2 tps per gallon.
and to repeat it every 3wks if they have symptoms until they reach 9mos. of age.

Ok. She's actually 10 months old I looked up the date. Also there is other birds that have the same poo. Should I do my whole flock? A lot of them are over 9 months.

How long do I wait to eat the eggs?

hope that the sick girl gets better quickly!

i got home in time this afternoon to check out my coops post-flooding a bit more carefully -- the water and mud has combined with the partly-composted deep litter in the runs to form a pretty thick pasty muck -- not sure how "cleanable" it really is, as opposed to just letting the top layer dry out, adding some more litter, and hoping the rest composts away below.

and i received a dozen CL eggs in the mail, oh boy! letting them rest overnight, and trying to decide which 8 of my own flock's eggs to add in to the incubator (which holds 20) with them!

Corid is a thiamine disruptor and will not hurt the eggs. The chart I posted says three days. corid is Amprol powder.

If she feels like she has an egg stuck give her some calcium. Some people give a calcium tab, but I don't like the thought of that. i crush one up in some yogurt. I have to say for an egg bound hen: Calcium has been the best help. I tried everything else. If I give that sometimes they lay the egg within a couple of hours. Could be other things, but at least this is a starter. Not sure how common cocci is in older birds, so maybe someone else could give input on that. I would start with some sort of calcium. Do you notice breathing funny or raspy? Hard to say without more input.
Has she laid an egg today? Not sure if they'll still poop if they're egg bound or not. I just don't remember on that one.
**Even if you're not sure about if you feel an egg, it won't hurt to give yogurt with calcium added
