Jubilee cockerel from Lual Shannon!
What a sweet sight that must have been to see them all looking healthy! I think I might have to find some Corid to have on hand.
A short term drop in temp shouldn't have been a problem, I wouldn't think. I have heard of people finding an egg that had gotten out from under a broody and was cold when they found it, but they put it back under the hen and it still hatched. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for you!![]()

With araucana based blue egg layers, the blue gene is closely associated with the pea comb gene. This one does not seem to have any peas though. It looks oddly flat so there is a good chance it will lay brown. If you had to choose before you saw the egg it laid, you would keep the ones with peas in the comb.I have a question for all you egg color experts out there. My little EE's should start laying any day now, and I'm trying to figure out their chances of laying a colored egg. I will probably have to sell a couple of them (due to my downsizing), and I want to make sure I let people know their chances of getting a colored egg. These are the ones that I hatched from my Salmon Favorolles roo, and my hatchery EE. She (mom) laid a bright blue egg. The pullets all have pea combs (I know this isn't a guarantee of carrying the blue gene). So my understanding is that most EE's carry 1 blue egg gene, and one other color gene (brown, white). So If that EE was crossed with the SF does that mean that the pullets only have a 75% chance of laying blue?

Hope you have a great hatch!Bad pic but here they are. I took the two Bantam eggs from the first time broody and left the 3 LF eggs under her. It is day 18. Both are more developed than they were Tuesday night and we saw the chick moving in one of them...the one closer to the top of the pic. Mama is a D'Uccle daddy is a white silkie. Temp is good, Humidity is 55% right now. I added water and am giving it a little time. I know in general eggs will bring up the temp in the bator but I didn't know if just two little ones like these would. Anyway I will check before bed.
for all the little ones in all the bators! Ron ...I should have figured with them being a med. breed but I didn't think about Pita Pintas being a white egg layer. I still may solicit your hatching services regardless.
Not sure what breed yet because yes I want them all too!
Very pretty! Now I want one! A chicken that comes to me for attention is always welcome in my flock!![]()
